I have relocated to many places throughout my career till now, however till now have never been able to avail the services of DRS group. I always intend to avail their services but unfortunately the prices quoted by them always exceed the Relocation Policy of MY TO BE company( I have worked for many Car Manufacturing companies in India).
Till now I have always been able to move on my luggage with a Local Packers & movers without any damage. Unfortunately this time I got a big blow & have decided that I shall always take the services of some professional group irrespective of the cost. The reason for the same is that I hired a Packers and Movers named Aggarwal Express Links pvt Ltd from gurgoan to transport my Car. Relocation Policy allowed 10000 rupees and DRS Quoted 15000/-. The local person quoted Rs.9500/-.
Due to the fitment of rates in policy limits, I decided against DRS.
This fellow took payment by cheque, provided all relevant documentation to me which seemed quite professional. The Car was supposed to be delivered in a Car Carrier.
However, After 6 days of delivering my car to their office, I got a phone call from Police that my car got involved in an accident just 100km from the place of delivery. They also informed me that the person driving the car died in the car & 3 other people sitting in car were badly injured. As per FIR these people took lift from the driver of the car. Apparantly this person was bringing the car through road & was giving lifts to people throughout the way. The packers and movers maintains that they brought the car by carrier and offloaded it somwhere near the accident place.(I am only writing the facts and am ensuring that my feelings & opinions are not demonstrated)
Now for last 5 months I travel on scooter as my car is a Total Loss case. Just Imagine how much I will need to struggle to get something from a non professional packers & movers( I say them as non professional as there is no response to my 2 notices for compensation).
The review was made to make people aware of the worst of the worst scenarios that can arise during relocation and also to sensitise HR personnel in companies to fix rational/realistic relocation limits.
