Lightroom is a great tool for photo editing and to retouch your photographs.
I have used lightroom and Photoshop both, though Photoshop is better than Lightroom. But Lightroom has its own advantages and we can't say that it is a bad software.
Now the good things about lightroom, its easy to use, its a powerful software to retouch the images like brightness, contrasts, color grading, split grading, color luminosity control, etc.
We can do quick edit using this software. We can also see before, after in this. And we can also do batch editing.
One thing is that it will best to edit your high detail images in here, high detail images means your Dslr images, because it has great details, and we can alter things in that.
Final line is that, if you want fast and easy editing for your high detail images, and if you don't want photo manipulation, go for Lightroom. Highly recommended.
