This was not the first time I went to the Adi Mohini Mohon Kanjilal college Street store to buy a nice saree for an upcoming occasion. I have been going there with my mother since I was a child. But this time I had a horrible experience which I thought I should definitely share with people.
So I went there with my husband to buy a saree and went straight to the silk counter and they asked me my budget and started showing a few sarees. Since I asked them to show me something which was very gorgeous they suggested me to try a Koreal Benarasi Saree. Then they pulled out the red and white Koreal Benarasi Saree which I fell in love with and immediately agreed to buy without having a second thought.
The seller was also kind of insisting that I should not look any further and go for that one. I asked if there was any color option available other than red and white to which they answered that these types of sarees do not come with a lot of options..and that was the best they had in stock. So I was convinced and went with that saree.
After I reached home and took the saree out of the box, I opened it up only to find some red spots inside the folds of the saree which I didn't notice earlier. I immediately contacted them and reported the problem. They asked me to come to visit their store the next morning, so I went there with my mother the very next morning and was completely shocked by their reaction. The staff reaction was so bad and they kept on arguing that I had made those red marks and damaged the saree. They accused me of accidentally pouring water on the saree which resulted in the red color transfer on the saree when none of these actually happened. They abused my mother too.
I told them that I opened the box as soon as I reached home and opened the full saree, it is then that I noticed those marks and those were not watermarks. Those were some kind of color which was on the saree. So after they started verbally abusing my mother and me I decided to leave the shop and went for the consumer forum straight.
So this was my experience at the Adi Mohini Mohon Kanjilal College Street branch. They may have a good stock and a wide range and variety of sarees but they do not care about customer satisfaction and they are too much money minded also manager behavior was very rude. He was not even interested in talking about the problem, more like he was determined not to exchange the saree.
