Really good University for Medical studies. Review on Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Bathinda

Adesh University has grown ever since the beginning of this Institute. This is an 11 year old MCI recognized Institute. Earlier it was a Government aided college but it became a separate University in the year 2012. I am a student of MBBS in Adesh Medical College. This is a good Institute if you are planning to pursue medicine as your career. Professors, here, are highly qualified doctors, mostly specialists and superspecialists. The college has huge lecture theatres which can accomodate more than 150 students each. The laboratories are well equipped along with respective lab technicians. Coming on to the Hospital, it is huge having the capacity of 750 beds and the patient load is increasing day by day. This is a plus point for the practical exposure of the students. Hospital has highly equipped Operation theatres with modern and newer technology. The hospital has a separate OPD having Superspecialist Cardiosurgeons, Gastrosurgeons and Plastic surgeons. The Institute has its own MRI Centre and MRIs are done at low costs here, keeping in mind the socioeconomic status of the patients visiting regularly. The hospital started IVF treatment centre last year which is a great initiative.

There are about 5 wings in the girls hostel and 3 wings in the boys hostel. There are single seater, 2 seater and 3 seater accommodations in the hostel. There are fully air-conditioned rooms available for those who wish to pay extra money. The food provided in the mess is checked regularly by the Hostel secretary, Wardens and Hostel Superintendent. Then there’s a hostel canteen which remains open till 12 at night.

I would recommend this college to the students wishing to pursue MBBS.
