I wanted to switch from my BSNL BB because of Customer service / Tech support which is equivalent to ZERO. So, I read a lot of reviews, mix and match of both good and bad about ACT. Finally, I became a subscriber of ACT Broadband last year in the month of April 2012. After reading reviews in MS, I thought of keeping my connection for BSNL BB also side by side for couple of days to see if ACT creates any issues I still have an option to switch back. Lot of people are not very satisfied with ACT and they still face downtime issues.
Now here is my story. So far till date I never faced any downtime issues with ACT BB. Once, long back in the month of December, I had a downtime of 2 hrs. due to some technical issues from their end. My area is INDIRANAGAR, BANGALORE and ACT is giving very good service in this area. Atleast no complains so far. I also get a power discount of Rs. 45.00 per month as they have used my power source to supply to their distribution box.
Few things which are different when it comes to ACT 1. Very stable and fast connection - depends on which plan you take 2. They do not count upload data in their monthly data consumption 3. They come and collect either cheque or cash from my doorstep and give me receipt then & there. 4. Plan change is a breeze. You just call them and also email them (from your registered email ID). 5. You can pay online from their PORTAL
What they should improve
Change there DNS Server. I use google DNS and it is very good.
They have a PORTAL Login Page. You need to login to the Portal Page first and only then you can have internet access. The session is active for 8 Hrs. They should change this and make MAC Address binding to specific user.
They are not spread across Bangalore in all the areas. They should work on that. Lot of my friends are actually waiting for ACT BB services in their area.
* After using ACT for a month, I thought I would write a review in MS but I still though I would take some more time to judge myself if this is really a stable connection. And Yes ! I can say now that ACT BB is so far the best connection one can have.

I did not mention anything about customer service is because I only called them once and my experience was good. In India, if you get a Customer service/ Technical support and if the rating is 2star out of 5 then consider yourself to be lucky.
