I had worked at Accenture for two and a half years, it was my first job and a truly life-changing experience in terms of the exposure and lessons learned. Accenture is a great company to be a part of. After all this time I could realize that it's the core values that keep this company going but this is something which you may not see it every day and everywhere in the company but believe me it does exist and there are people who are really professional in the work they do and the values that they carry.
Now joining the company as a fresher vs experienced has both pros and cons. If you are a fresher, believe me, they're one of the best onboarding procedure and it's totally worth it, you enjoy, you learn and there are lots of activities to welcome you to the corporate world and make you comfortable and probably that's why it is famously called as the "honeymoon period" : p. And with this, you get to know Accenture as a company and you know a lot about the organization and its values and vision. On the contrary, if you are experienced the one plus point and indeed the major one for why a lot of people take up a job is that your pay is high. Yes, freshers don't get paid much, on the other hand with some relative experience and skills you can crack a really good deal here and apart from that when you join like this you get to know about your technology, client, and project more than the company which is absolutely fine.
Now talking about the work culture, well a lot depends on the team and project you are assigned to. Believe me, you'll hear both good and bad about it but yes, the scale of work culture ranges from good to bad, and not because Accenture does that but because people at higher levels can sometimes exploit, and unawareness of your rights and liabilities makes you vulnerable but at the same time there people at higher levels who have extended support which is immense. So the question of whether it's bad or good fairly depends on the people you work. Your client can be a pain in the a, your working hours may be tough, the workload may be more, in fact, everything in terms of work can be against you, but it all does not matter cause no matter how your work is it's the people you work with who matter and leadership under whom you're working. If they're somebody you can work, learn and jell out with, then that's perfect and every inch of your effort pays off, otherwise, it's no less than a graveyard of walking dead souls because you, your work and people around will kill you from the inside without even you realizing it. So yeah, good luck with that and be not afraid cause if it's good, you're going to live and if it's bad, then you'll learn. And for that matter, this toxicity exists everywhere and in all companies cause it's not the company but the people just like some bad breath of air who exist everywhere.
You get lots of benefits both in terms of money and social security, there are lots of events, groups so to groom yourself while you work or indulge in your hobbies parallelly while you're at your job is possible.
Therefore job satisfaction depends a lot on the type of project, work, team, or leadership you get.
When it comes to job security I must admit Accenture as an organization does understand a lot and makes sure that layoffs are like leap years that they don't happen every year so your job is pretty much secured.
Job growth is not much but there is a lot of learning opportunity cause of the large pool of mega clients that they have so chances of your exposure are pretty much high. A good suggestion would be to work there for some time to gain experience and then move on.
Overall it has been a very good experience of mine in terms of learning. That doesn't imply that I didn't have bad times, instead, probably most of the time went in a disastrous environment and it was very tough. But I take all that experience as my learning cause they shape you, and just like diamonds or sculptures, you also have to be shaped by sometimes hard substances and remember that world will not always be good to you. At the same time, it'll have your faith restored in all the goodness that still exists and makes its way amidst all the chaos.
Good Luck!
Thank You.
