Earn your wings if you desire to fly high. And become a Pilot. Yes…I have become one.
It was my childhood dream to become a pilot however due to various reasons, I could pursue my passion and got in to creative arts and eventually started my own brand building company in Pune.
They say “Agar kuch poori shiddat se chaho to poori kaynat tumko us se milane ki sazish karne lagti hai”. After many years I got an inquiry from a flying school situated in Baramati(Maharashtra) called Carver Aviation for their advertising and brand building requirements and I was happy to lap it up due to my passion for aviation. Although their marketing head met a few more companies besides us, ultimately he decided to work with us as he felt an aviation enthusiast would do great work for the flying school.
As a process I visited their campus and saw all the facilities and I was impressed. Large fleet of single and multi engine aircrafts, proper runway, own ATC tower(Air Traffic Control) and frequency, Aircraft maintenance section, Apron and Parking bay, Class rooms, Flight simulator room, library and nice canteen.
Also they have separate hostels for boys and girls along with the transport facility from the hostel to the academy. This is a 25 year old flying school with most robust infrastructure.
I was really overwhelmed by all this. We started working with full “Josh” loved developing ideas for Carver Aviation. The real thing happen by destiny one day when the marketing head and flight instructor asked me “Sir when are you going to learn flying?. I was surprised. Can I still do it? I asked… He said with a smile ”Yes.why not? “.
And I was determined to earn my wings. I went through all the process( Board & mark sheet verification, Police verification, Medical test and finally Student Pilot License(SPL) test. I cleared all with the help of extremely knowledgeable and helping staff and my training began. I opted for Private Pilot’s License(PPL) as I wanted to pursue my hobby and nor become an airline commercial pilot(CPL)
I was then taken for a flight familiarization flight to understand how it works and experienced flight controls. I was thrilled and excited like hell. The wonderful infrastructure and seasoned flying instructors made it really easy for me and within 19 hrs of flying training, I did my first Solo flight and that was the day I got my golden, shining set of wings….Yes! I flew solo.
A traditional shirt cutting followed by celebrations and I was ready for next levels like Sector(local) flying and Cross Country flying training. I completed all with flying colors and simultaneously studied for DGCA(Director General of Civil Aviation) exams( Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation, Tech. Specific, Tech. General, Air Regulations and Principals of flight) With the proper guidance of able instructors, I cleared all my theory papers in first attempt(70% is the passing marks).
After everything, Carver Aviation helped me submit all the documents with utmost care to DGCA as it takes a long time to get the delivery of Pilot License. Ultimately I received my long awaited, coveted Private Pilot’s License along with FRTOL(Flight Radio Telephone Operator’s License).
While I was under training, I happened to meet saver Commercial Pilot’s License trainees and AME(Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) students. All had this positive feedback of the flying school.
After considering all aspects and other flying schools in India, I would definitely recommend Academy of Carver Aviation for the following courses: 1. Commercial Pilot’s License(40hrs of flying training), 2. Private Pilot’s License(200 hrs of flying training) and 3. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
There are thousands of Commercial Pilots and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers working in the aviation industry in India as well as abroad. Yes you too can become a pilot like me.
