I first used AbiWord about a year or so ago when it was considered a beta version. It froze when I tried to go to the Spelling Tab in the Options menu. I decided to uninstall AbiWord because of that bug. Now, after a year of development, its at version 1.0.2. So, I decided to go and download the latest version (at that time, it was 1.0.1), which hasn't crashed on me yet and I haven't found any bugs in the program yet. The things I like about this program is that it fully supports Microsoft Word Documents (DOC files) and can save in that format if the need arises. Overall, I think that anyone who wants an alternative to Microsoft Word that's smaller in size, should try AbiWord.
