Wake up India, open your Aankhen, a well-made movie waits to been seen even if it means only a one time watch. A movie that has everything for everybody. A good storyline though adopted, a brilliant star cast spearheaded by the Big B, a somewhat taut direction that keeps you holded though for the first half and after the interval proves to be a Swiss cheese full of holes. Yes there are shortcomings too particularly its weak screenplay and loose editing.
Through this movie it seems the day of the women has come as they can have a feast for their eyes on the hero stuff. Both Akshay & Arjun leave the opposite sex gaping, literally!! Have you ever seen such Greek gods looking like blind men? Ekdum jakhas!!!
Mr. Bachchan is simply terrific as an actor and takes the cake for his performance. With each scene he convinces you about the internal torture he is going through. Simply he is perfect khalnayak. Sush comes as a pleasant surprise with a strong performance.
As for Paresh, he is the real life of the film. Great comic performances that at times even over shadow the Big B. Kashmira Shah is good as an item girl but the producer seems to feel that she cannot carry off the clothes too well. The wardrobe of every artiste has been done with excellence and style. However the sets reflect an artificial look. But the biggest surprise of the movie is the perfectly done computer graphics. the best part being when Amitabh plans to construct the crime on the computer.
Overall Aankhen (earlier titled All The Best)is a good film which definitely could have been even better than what is was made out to be. Although the concept was just brilliant, it was just a good subject badly executed.
