I visited this hotel only once and not any more than once. Well Though, A2B was better known for selling sweets and snacks, this hotel is recently getting powered with the food service and so the crowds today actually visit this place mostly for food rather than the sweets.
So it was a night and we were on the way back from shopping to home and since my mother and brother wished to take dinner at A2B Velcherry this time, we stopped here to take up the dinner.
And here is my bad experience -
-> Car Parking - Worst Worst Worst. Is it the location, or the shop or the crowd, I don't know whose fault it is which is responsible for the worst parking situation. But if you happen to visit this restaurant anytime in you own car, get ready to the worst parking scenario. You have to find the parking all by yourself and no one will come to help you out. And after lots of confusions, you will finally find a parking a few 100 meters away from the hotel or leave this restaurant to find an another better hotel!
But Bike parking is okey I guess.
-> The Hotel -
1) The hotel is big, well lit from outside and much suitable for trendy crowds. But once you get inside., Yuck. Full of dirt, trash, noise and crowds.
2) The interior of hotel just looks like as if you are at the T Nagar's old Saravana Bhavan. When This A2B was new, it looked better, but now the interiors have become really worst.
3) The Restaurant is Air conditioned but the effect is bad. Will not be good during summers.
Again, I guess, these are not the complete fault of the hotel, but it due to the uncontrollable crowd.
-> Finding Table - Just like car parking, this one is the next difficult mission. No staff will help you out to find a table and you have to search here and there a lot to find your own table for food. And even after you find the table, it won't be cleaned and no one will come to clean up the table.
But again, just like few other racist and feminist hotels, this one also follows the same rule of "Pride to Rich". I mean, you will get fullest respect, if you walk-in with a hot women. I hate that.
-> Serving - Its again "self serving" thing here. You have got to go, order the food all by yourself, wait in line with the coupon and finally get the food. Only a few, who look rich and hot(By looks), get the service by the servers.
-> Food - Its neither good or bad. Its normal here. But far better than the Hot Chips. The Food is served hot and taste better too. The food like Fried rice and noodles are not good here but the basic south Indian food like Idly, dosa, vada, pongal taste good here.
BUT don't go for Parcel Service here, You will "Vomit" for sure.
-> Sweet and snacks - This is only thing which is good at all the A2B branches. Really Tasty. We bought ras malai I guess and it tasted really awesome and we bought 250g of colored rasgulla, which is my favorite at A2B and its yummy.
-> Pricing and quantity - Its nominal. The food is priced for the what is served. Never overpriced I guess. The Quantity of food also nominal. "Quantity= price".
Overall - Except food at this branch of A2B, everything else was a pretty worst experience. We especially me lost the mood to eat here because of worst environment and ambiance here. This A2B is only suitable to trendy fast moving crowds and not for relaxed eaters.
Sweet is the only thing here, which is good.
