The first thing I wish to do is make one thing clear. I am a Coldplay fan and I like
'A Rush of Blood to the Head.' However, I am also a music fan, and do not think it is perhaps the greatest CD around. Too many DJs speak of this album as it is the best thing since sliced bread, barbequed cajun chicken or cricket. It isn't. It has a few very good songs but they are counterbalanced by a few very ordinary songs.
I bought this album because I liked Coldplay's music. I bought it to listen to my favourite songs, 'God Put a Smile Upon my Face,' 'The Scientist' and 'In My Place.' This I do, and this I like doing. However, the rest of the album is not as strong. In fact, it is positively boring.
Nevertheless, it is worth buying because you never know, I could have very strange judgement and be denouncing some great songs.
If you like this, I'd also recommend Keane's 'Hopes and Fears,' it is melancholy and sentimental, and a calming CD, beautiful for doing work to.
