Story:

Anne Rice is one of my favourite authors. She has the power over words that few new age author venturing in her genre has.

In this dark tale that Anne Rice has spun, she proves yet again why she is the mistress of the dark world where black magic and the undead roams.

This story is about the Mayfair family. A powerful witching family dating back three centuries to Suzanne Mayfair. The first of them. And the heart of this mysterious power is a spirit named Lasher who is seductive, evil and inevitably grows stronger to each generation of witch that he is passed down to.

The story starts with Micheal Curry who came into possesion a frightening yet intriguing power after a near drowning experience. Desperate to know whence the power came and the reason he was bestowed with it, Micheal sought out the woman who saved him. Beautiful enigmatic Rowan Mayfair.

As the story grows, you'll learn about the Mayfair family, how they came to existance and the in breeding method the witches adopt to keep their line pure and enhance their power. You'll learn how the Talamasca (yes, a regular of Anne Rice would know who they are. the ones who watch and are always here are linked to the Mayfair witches and their growing facination with the family.

Even as the love between Micheal and Rowan blooms, they could not escape the fate of the Mayfair witches. The fate that Lasher has sought for three centuries.

This story has a gripping storyline and you will be on the edge of your seat, clinging on to the pages to dear life. It is a long read though and you're going to need lots of patience to finish it.

At the end of the day this story stays with you, long after you've put the book down.......
