I been staying in this dark room for quite some time. Sometimes even the silence has got some sound. It’s been a while I spoke. There is nobody around… It took almost two long years for me to write about this album. Two… is long because… I stay in this dark room. Here I come to say a few words about ‘Division Bell’. Perhaps, the album I listened to more than any. They advised me to be careful with that axe. Yea… it can cut us into pieces… would it be the tongue they try to hint on? I let my imagination chase over the phrase. Now, they have come out of the pink into the blues. Pink Floyd is no more pink… They are all blues…

Warning: Pink Floyd is a psychedelic rock band which was formed in the sixties. This review may leave you in depression.

Crazy Diamond’s innovation leads to a legendary evolution…

Here I crave to know more about the crazy diamond as known as Syd Barrett. Was it reverse? Doesn’t matter, either ways it’s him. I have read an interview where he spoke about his dreams. His dream was to become rich and buy food for all his friends. And they call him madcap… Sigh!

When madcap laughed, the world witnessed another idol. We all sing along with him… I was Numb watching the movie ‘The Wall’, since it was based on him. They nailed him… Accused him… Abused him for writing poems… Now, the bands have got all praises for him… He is dead and gone… That’s life… Shine on you crazy diamond!

Division Bell…

Why on earth have I chosen this album? Is it because this was their final studio album? or the reason being it’s going to be my last review on FLOYD and wanted to end with mentioning all my favorite tracks? Who will forget ‘High Hopes’… I don’t think you can ever stop listening to ‘Coming back to life’…

Most of their titles speak. When words and those notes blow your mind off, you sit in a corner and think about life, dreams, love… You get philosophical… Again when you listen to the same old tracks, an added gist is all you get.

Have you ever dreamt to be in the same era when all these tracks were composed? Quite often I wander alone in the wilderness picking pebbles and throw them one by one as I reach a nearby stream. Sixties is not anymore old for a band that created history. They remain close to our hearts…

Track listing…

1. Cluster one

Don’t worry I have got all the songs in here and will pick track by track and rhyme. Cluster one and what’s that? It’s an instrumental piece. You may sink for about 5 minutes and 58 seconds. You got to be very careful because it speaks a lot. The guitar is played melodiously. Mr. Gilmour has to be the best in business. He doesn’t compromise anything related to music. The note takes in a cold manner and as it ends you must have reached on an island.

2. What do you want from me?

I don’t know… Eh, Music? I guess so… They scream out ‘what do you want from me?’ and David Gilmour goes high and low in here.

3. Poles Apart

I must have spoken enough and more about this track. Alright, for the rest it goes like this. I’m just an average listener. Does that make any sense? I don’t think so… So, shall I scribble few lines from the song? Was it written on Syd Barrett? I know ‘Wish you were here’ and ‘Shine on you crazy diamond’ was written or rather I would say a tribute to him. The song goes like this…

Did you know.it was all going to go so wrong for you

And did you see it was all going to be so right for me

Why did we tell you then

You were always the golden boy then

And that you'd never lose that light in your eyes…

I was lost in thoughts… in words… If you have missed out this track in your music collections then kindly make a note of it.

4. Marooned

Been a decade sorting out the best guitarists in the world and I still couldn’t manage to rate them. This instrumental piece is one of the best tracks ever played in the whole planet. While watching a recent concert I saw this old man(David Gilmour) carrying his guitar on the stage and playing like back in sixties. Is there anybody out there to lend me a dictionary? I would have showered all the praises on him for creating a magnificent track.

5. Coming back to life

Where were you when I was burned and broken? You see someone raving about his love here. Like I have mentioned earlier, Pink Floyd communicates through their titles.

Due to the space limit I got to brief my review. I got to manage some space for the track number 11. So, with your permission listing out the other tracks below.

6. A great day for freedom, 7. Wearing the inside out, 8. Take it back, 9. Keep talking, 10. Lost for words

11. High Hopes

I have lots to talk about this masterpiece. It talks about dreams… The old visionary witness himself as the change to his place. He has a dream. His dream is clear and powerful. When he reaches the other side, the nerve gets break down and all we get a note of streaming illusion.

The visionary gets lost in words and the music replaces him to complete the meaning to the tune. My hunger was satisfied listening to this track… I can live without food… without water… but…(You know it).

I have stayed in this dark room for quite some time now… I don’t live here anymore… This message will be passed on to the next generation… The flowers will dry and fall… The rivers will stop flowing… All of us will rest in peace… But… Pink Floyd will live… Forever and ever…
