I bought Indica DLS Euro II in FEB 2004 from Hind Motors, Chandigarh .. Awful Dealership, Telco should consider taking it back from them.

Actually, I was initially planning to go for Zen Diesel during that time but since the wait time for Zen DI was too long, I went for Indica V2 .. Within 1500 KMS, both the left & right axel broke down. One was replaced by Hind Motors, Chandigarh for free of cost but for the other, they gave me GOLI that the damage was done by the wire which got wrapped up onto the boot of the axel & done the damage.. In spite of my repeated requests to the service manager, general manager of Hind Motors, nobody paid attention to me & I finally had to pay 4500 out of my pocket. Before coming onto the CAR, I would like to share some points about this awful dealer in Chandigarh.

  1. Very Bad Customer Service. Nobody would ever even ask you for even a glass of water.

  2. Seems as if the staff if totally illiterate & technically zero.

  3. Their main motive is just to fetch the money out of the customer's pocket by giving them false information about the parts being replaced by them in the workshop during the service.

  4. Grievances are never heard. Even, if you try to be polite with them, they would treat you like a driver. The worst part of owning Indica is that most of the people would think that you are running it as a private CAB & even the staff at the dealership would think the same & treat you like a CAB driver. I have no clue about other regions of India but it is very much prevalent in Chandigarh / Punjab.

Now, some points, some experiences I had with my car till date:

The bearings of the rear wheels of my car broke down around 6-7 times in total. In spite of the fact that I drive my car on the excellent roads of Chandigarh (City Beautiful), it has happened to me many times. I was totally sick of it & made a written complaint but it remained unanswered. All the 4 tyres of my car were worn out at mere 36000 KMS, though I used to get the balancing & the alignment done at the right times but I had to get them replaced with the new tubeless tyres & alloys. The current reading of my car is 55000 KMS & one of the front tubeless tyre is 50 % damaged again. I have no other option but to purchase a new one. I must say that this CAR eats tyres like anything .. No matter how much you care, your tyres won’t cross 25000 KMS at the max. The motor for the power steering got replaced under warranty due to the leakage. Power steering doesn’t like a power steering at all.

The silencer got replaced with the new one under warranty as the old one used to make a humming noise. The heat plugs have been replaced 6-7 times. With AC on, you simply cannot expect the car to overtake on the freeway. Many times initially, when I was not aware of this problem, I tried overtaking buses/trucks with AC on & noticed this lack of power in this CAR. 1-2 times, things got so closed that I had to switch off the AC & lower the gear to save myself from the accident on the freeway. Sometimes while driving in the city, I have noticed that if you keep the AC on & drive for say 30-40 KMS & if at some moment, you have to stop the car due to any reason, it doesn’t start. It has to be rested for 5 minutes before you start it again. On the hills, it takes a lot of load with no pickup & even a scooter can by pass you easily. You have to be on the 2nd / 3rd gear always.

My friends, to conclude, I would say “Please never ever go for TATA Cars”. Even the new Turbo / Dicor are pitiable as compared to other cars available in the market. If TATA truly has a make a mark in the market, they simple need to re-engineer the whole technology right from the scratch.
