Have been using tally more then 10 year now . since ver 4.5 . also have used EX .
The main Issue with is that It is being developed by a Totally Accountants view point . it does not support the ease and the smooth functioning of Smooth Financial management Software . If people want to review a Financial manaagment software in the same price band . they should must have a look at a software called ’’QUICKBOOKS’’ . it is a US based software by quicken .and the difrence is too great . I would pay double the price if they launh an India Version .
One of The issue which I find irritranting is . that even after so long they have introduced a POS module but that is also not user freindly . one has to have a good experince with accounting in Tally to use the POS . I still have to use a customised Software developed in Clipper by a local vendor . which has approximatley same foot print but much much better user interface in DOS screen like Tally and same speed .
So mush of my biling in sales is double entry job for my accounts departmemt .
A Lay man or Sales and Billing staff Staff in organzation like mine would find using Tally a Pain. I strongly feel that millions of INdian businesses can benifit much better if Tally seriously works on the user Interface and support.
