This posting concerns inward remittance.
SBI's web site says that payment be made to nostro a/c of FD Calcultta
for inward remittance. I have snagged the information and attach
herewith for your ready reference.
One of officials namely Sri S Banerjee, SBI Frankfurt wrote me to
pay to DE04503300000000716243, SBI Frankfurt for remittance to India.
Another official namely Ms Gisela Moreno, SBI Frankfurt says pay
to 52699785502003 for this kind of payment.
What a fantastic example of confusion SBI can cause to a
customer. What is the correct and best way? Only God knows and none of
SBI officials can answer the question.
The matter was reported to Chairman SBI but none of the SBI officials responded even after expiry of considerable time.
Many of the NRIs feel that quality of officials posted on their foreign branches is quite low. Often these officials offer confusing suggestions and complicate the issue. They are unhelpful. It seems such postings are not made on merit but on some considerations.
