Royal Cafe is the one stop shop for anything foodie in lucknow...
Before you even enter the dining area there's 2 sections waiting to start you off..the chaats and the drinks/dessert area...
Kick of the proceedings with some amazingly refreshing paani puri/golgappas...its made with aquaguard ka paani-for those of you with delicate stomachs!ask for the mixed paani-spicey and sweet...tangy and the perfect appetizer..one round of about 6-8 golgappas sets you back a princely 5 rupees at the royal cafe!
You will be tempted by the chaat on offer...so be warned..you may never actually make it IN to royal cafe...the 'basket chaat' is famous acoss lucknow...potato shredded and fried to become a container for all the aallo tikki samosa fruit and channa (finished off with dahi and chutney) that you can handle!
I must confess I haven't actually made it past this formidable entrance ever-the chaat is way too tempting and the spice that lingers on your tongue just creams for you to follow up with a cold drink or an ice cream...when you finish you drink..you just start over!!
