Well it's seems like you are planning to buy a new car under 3-5 lac or you have very strict budget. And after several days of research on internet and discussion with friends and simoultanously spotting a stylish KWID on the road, your choice going towards KWID. If yes, it's normal. Because currently not a single entry level car(in 3-5 lac) can beat KWID by style and looks. Anyone who want to own a stylish car in this budget will give a thought for KWID. Don't misunderstand, I am not going to write on KWID's aesthetic looks only. There is much more in the car after exterior we should look while buying a car. I own RXT version of KWID. Now I will tell you about KWID's every aspect step by step that car owner wants to know. As per my perspective price is main concern to entry level buyers in India. So we can compare KWID to EON, K10, TIAGO(All versions are belong between 3.6-3.9 lac)
Engine - Power is the main aspect in any car. We all know that KWID have 0.8 L engine which is capable for take a small car with 5 passengers easily. But don't misunderstand it comparing engine like - Alto 800cc to KWID 800cc. Don't forgot KWID's engine is from Renault, and produces more power than Alto. Also weight of car is about 700 kgs, so weight/power ratio is good. You will feel like driving a car having 1000cc engine.
But beside to good power KWID's engine makes good noise also. Which is like diesel engine. You can clearly hear it from outside of the car. Noise goes down when car takes speed. Inside the car you will not notice much noise.
Space Inside - When I compared KWID to K10 and EON, it is more spacious. But TIAGO have bit more space than KWID. At once I travelled 4 people seating on back seat. Obviously that was not comfortable but they able to seat. 3 people can comfortably travel. There is satisfactory legroom.
Comfort - You will be satisfied by it's comfort. I will compare it with swift. KWID is comfortable to ride. Space and suspension is good enough.
Fuel consumption - Renault says 25km/L for highways. Before first servicing I am getting 19km/L in city. Don't ignore that I am a new driver. So fuel consumption is also good.
Looks - There is no need to write here about looks of KWID. When I take this car on road, I smile and feel proud that people turning heads to car. Notice that my KWID have a crome pack for exterior with roof rails. Which makes car more stylish. Attaching few photos of KWID RXT white(not my car's pics).
Reliability - I feel car is reliable. Weight of the car is about 700 kg without passengers, it make me doubt. But when I take car on 100 km/hour, I never felt that doubt. I had traveled on worst road in car but still felt it is reliable. On engine, car have used much plastic(on not in). KWID is not very strong car for accidents. EON, ALTO, even CELERIO, TIAGO are also not very strong. Assuming a small car having 0.8-1.0L engine and having strict budget, this is not needy to be much strong. You are not recommended to cross 100 km/hour speed.
Dealer satisfaction - I hear and read that Renault's dealer satisfaction is very poor. It's very funny to say and hear that. You can't say that RELIANCE's petrol or diesel is very poor at quality. Because Reliance only provides fuel to respective fuel pumps, pump owners directly responsible to quality and satisfaction, and it may be changed from pump to pump. As like few Renault dealers are rude to their customers does not mean that Renault's customer satisfaction is poor. I purchased my car from Renault Satara(Maharashtra). They are polite, cooperative, helpful.
Overall - Renault KWID is definitely a car which Indians are looking for. At low budget you get much more. You want a car which is stylish, modern looking, comfortable, fuel efficient then KWID will be YOURS choice. Go to dealer test drive the car then test drive another few cars and decide. After-all it's your car, your choice.
All the Best!
