Story:

I was a little disappointed with A Painted House by John Grisham but The Partner has once again restored my desire to read more of his books. He is back to what he does best...write about the law and lawyers.

The story as the official description goes is about Patrick Lanigan who has absconded with ninety million dollars and is on the run and his past is finally catching up wit him.

The book is written in a nice flowing style with good continuity and one tends to read chapter after chapter. It is a nice book to finish over the weekend as it is not very heavy reading material.

I would be doing injustice to the book if I reveal too much of the plot here but Grisham has once again shown his knowledge of the law and how an interesting thriller can be written about it. Even though the circumstances seem to be favouring the protagonist a little too much, it is pardonable as this is fun time reading. In an era of too much sex and violence in books and films, this book like his previous books, stands out for its clean storyline.

The ending is of course one place where people will disagree. I personally liked it but there may be hordes who may not but then that applies to every book doesn't it?
