25-August-2008 - 9:15 AM.
A trip planned in 15 min and next 15 min in making the arrangements for the stay @ nandi hills.

25-August-2008

- 10:05 AM.
Left for Nandi Hills, me and my wife very excited as usual. The trip from Bannarghatta road to Hebbal flyovers was preety busy. However after the international Airport, the fun began. Open and wide 4 lane road and now 25 kms of drive.

How to reach.
After Devanhalli town which is on the right side of the road, if you are coming from Bangalore, you will see a board on the left of the road. That’s where you turn left. The one lane road condition is very good except for some speed breakers. You will find some small villages in between.

The ghat section is interesting - The road condition is now back to usual, potholes and no Tar. Except, its not that bad. I enjoyed the ride through out. And whats the fun traveling if everything happens the way you plan.

At Nandi Hills -
As soon as you enter the Nandi Hills area (Marked by a fort), you have to pay 60 Rs, if you are travelling by car. For 2-Wheelers I’ve got no idea what they’ll ask for.

Stay at Nandi Hills -
Only place I know - Mayura Pine Top Hotel.
Started by KSTDC, is a good option to stay. The stay includes one basic room, two beds, 1 TV with Dish TV set top box (TV Doesn’t work), attached toilet which is clean. The power @ Nandi hills never goes.. It in fact comes for some time. In my case I saw the bright room for three hours only. Evening 8 to Morning 7, there was no power.
But again, who needs power? It was very exciting candle lit night.

Food - At the same restaurants - ok. You can’t expect more.
Drinks - Not sure if you get it at Nandi hills. Pack some bottles on the way.
Get mosquito repellents. Not the mats.. remember ... there is no power...
And enjoy...

Places to see... Didn’t see any except for Tipu Drop and the Mahadev Temple..
Next morning ... came back to Bangalore. :(
