This movie has a morally repugnant undercurrent to it -- that it's okay to look upon those who were molested as children with undue suspicion and certainty, to use that undeserved suspicion as a rationale for murdering them. And if you do murder them, you can just go on with your life as if nothing had happened. You can even go to parades. After all, their lives were so valueless that you shouldn't have to suffer any consequences at all for killing them, right?
Horrible, horrible movie. You would think that as one who starred in the excellent morality tale Shawshank Redemption, Tim Robbins would have recognized the foul odor coming from the script of this reprehensible thing and stayed far, far away from it. But then, if he had, the one accurate theme of the movie -- the depressed and somewhat paranoid mindset of molestation survivors -- would have been handed to someone less capable of pulling it off. But that in no way redeems this movie. Save your money and your time; don't watch it.
