I owned moto g first gen. One of my friend uses 2 gen. And I currently own moto g turbo. None of the devices ever had any issues. Till date they r sturdy and going strong in terms of performance.
People do not understand one fact - no device is perfect and it depends lot on how it is used. Moto has come up with decent offerings always inpast few years. One can get all round performance, of he / she is smart enough to understand how to use gadgets.
