Metallica what can I say about the band each & every words are nothing for them. I have seen live performing number of times, right now I am in Kurta Pajma but my music library full of metal cds. I love this band like anything, I am fortunate one to get a picture with whole band with Newstad & after that with his replacement Robert. They are awesome as band as well as individuals I love Kirk, First time when I asked for pic with the band I asked a silly question to Kirk but he took it seriously & replying after that whole other guys started to laugh & I said I heard nothing still your guitar riffs are playing in my head. Lars is a serious guy but quite friendly James is star the way he walk talk.

Anyway Metallica or Black Album as famously called is best metal album of all time if they had included Master of Puppets in it than no other album can even stand in front of it. Still all songs in it are best thrash metal tracks of this universe. Why they choose the tracks for details check out documentary which is must for metallica fans. Metallica kicked out Dave Mustaine leave the reasons but what we get is Megadeth another best heavy metal band, now Dave & Lars patched up & toured with antrax & slayer as Big 4 great live performances & what an ending. Because of Metallica number of bands rised & they helped them as opening for them like that. Take Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park few more all influenced by Metallica. They are living legends & now they have principles which all members have to follow.

Black album is Metallica’s fifth released in August 12, 1991 through Elektra Records album which gave them enormous success. The most expressively driven album the band had released, front man, vocalist James Hetfield’s lyrics are deep in thought & have personal experience touch in few tracks. The album got the complete instrumental talent of Metallica heard in earlier albums. It includes the classic tracks 'Enter Sandman', 'The Unforgiven' & 'Nothing Else Matters.' The lyrics to 'The God that Failed' are possibly the most personal that James Hetfield has written. His mother was a devout Christian Scientist but her faith didn't save her from dying of cancer.

Enter Sandman" is the opener track of the album & is heavy damn heavy. The rhythm of the guitar carries the song along till the end. Metallica at its best Lars thumbing the drums like crazy with Kirk with his riffs & paul as bass doing great. The link is very effective with James praying with a child which really goes with the music. If opener is this think what will be in rest of the album?

"Sad But True" is next track of album & is faintly heavier than Enter Sandman. The rhythm is very metal based with guitaring full of hammer ones & palm muting. The lyrics here are really great.

"You, you're my mask, you're my cover, my shelter,

You're the one who's blamed,

Do, do my work, do my dirty work scapegoat,

Do, do my deeds for you're the one who's shamed"

James' vocals towards the lyrics are very anguish which really affects the song really well, the solo is great, drums looks simple but give that powering movement to the song so overall the song is great to listen to & to sing lonely when you are angry. Try it.

"Holier Than Thou" is a fast song with palm muted guitaring all the time & the drums giving the power. This song has energy with rhythm very catchy & vocals are angst , lyrics are as well. The link is very good with for a brief moment the bass line shines here with drums accompanying it then the climax rises when guitars enter then the song comes to a halt when it reaches the peak.

"The Unforgiven" is a rare for Metallica. The sound here is very nice to listen to until it gets to the verse when all music turns to distortion & power. James vocals are angst again, lyrics are painful. The chorus is just a repeat of the rhythm of the acoustic part but with vocals. This is an excellent & earns its place in Metallica's best songs."Wherever I May Roam" starts with a sitar playing effect on guitar. This gives a strange atmosphere to the song & then the whole thing sets to twist keeping the same melody of the sitar part, the drums accompanies the guitar for power. The vocal here is excellent & lyrics are seducing. This song is a head banger in my opinion with its snare powered rhythm & palm muting guitaring going together perfectly. The solo is extraordinary with its sound & its frantic fuss. One of the best by metallica."Don't Tread On Me" The song is one of the weakest on the album but it doesn't mean it is a bad song. The song is very moving in its marching feeling. "Through The Never" is the same logic as "Don't Tread On Me" with its repetitive construction which drags along but again, this song has its moments like its driving guitar riff that sounds really cool and its angst vocals."Nothing Else Matters" is the real ballad here. The only slow song of Metallica till this date. The song is beautiful with its nice melody on the guitar & so much emotion is put on the vocals. The guitaring on this song is fairly hard & the drums is very simple, the bass line here helps move the rhythm along. The lyrics got truthful feelings. The music on this song is the high point as it is so beautifully constructed with its string arrangements, lovely acoustic guitar work & a great end solo that really gives the emotion out on the song. This is one of the high points on the album & is another great release from the album. Shining song.

"Of Wolf And Man" turns the tone of the album back on to the head banging side with so much power into this song. So much power on the drums, the brilliant riff on the guitar & angst vocals based on angst https://lyrics. This song is a work of beauty. The God That Failed is a bass lined song really as it sets the tone of the song. The bass line is really good and the guitar accompanying it is good as well. The verse is really angst with vocals and lyrics being very distressing like this:

"Pride you took, Pride you feel, Pride that you felt when you'd kneel,

Not the word, Not the love, Not what you thought from above,

It feeds, It grows, It clouds all that you will know,

Deceit, Deceive, Decide just what you believe."

The chorus is powerful as well as the song is, the solo is put into parts that are both excellent. The ending of the song breaks down into a clean mellow chord that signals a great ending."My Friend Of Misery" has again got a starting bass line that is better than the previous one, and it really represents misery a lot with its descending fuss, excellent stuff. This song is excellent and is worth a listen. The last song on the album "The Struggle Within" starts off with an army kind of drumming and then some 80's style guitaring. And then, it breaks down to a frantic song that is full of angst. The chorus is excellent with the shouting "Struggle Within", it really makes an impact on the song. The solo is probably the best on the album as it has so much variation on it from finger tapping to some rhythm based. This is a great finish to an album and a great song. Overall every rock metal fan must have in there ipods or cds. When worlds best drummer, vocalist plus Rhythm guitarist & lead guitarist with one of the best bass guitarist gels together what you expect not diamond a platinum.
