I think this season nail paints are a deadly must have. But for a middle class Indian woman, to opt of a branded nail paint seems to be an undesirable thought. I start with Lakme. Im an ardent fan of lakme, but the brand managers seem to have lost the sensitivity. With ELLE 18, they think they have captured the low end brand segment. Frankly, Elle 18 lacks simple quality.
But when considering nail paints they should think of introducing smaller bottle option and correspondingly a lower price. It is also much trendy the small bottle concept. with trends changing sooo fast, picking a larger bottle and trying to store it for years doesnt make sense.
On the contrary smaller bottles are easy on pocket and will be picked up more frequently as women need choice today. There is no one colour choice today. So, if you have one big bottle which is Rs 75, but contrary have Rs 30 for a smaller bottle, defntly the shopper would be enticed to pick atleast 3 shades and that comes to a total of Rs 90 at one go. And since the quantity is less, they will be used up faster and so the consumer comes back quicker for more colour.
Adhering to this well is Color Bar, I find their small bottles of nail paints priced at Rs 30 very enticing. Additionally, they are extremely quick dry unlike most other brands.
Since I have my loyalities still for Lakme, I suggest they rethink their strategies!
