This incident happened like at the end of last year. I booked my round trip tickets from Hyderabad to Coimbatore via YATRA in INDIGO airlines. As I always plan my leaves ahead, I booked the tickets like 2 months before. After like two weeks or so, I was informed that my flight was pre-poned for the same day, by 2 hrs. And I confirmed the same. But it was not updated in YATRA, As I booked my tickets thru their app I was constantly checking on it, and believed all is well and forgot completely about Change in flight time. I reached the counter as said in yatra, and was shocked to realize that my flight is about to leave. The guy in the counter said, I confirmed about the pre-pone of the ticket and he needs to consider my ticket as a NO SHOW. I reached at 9pm and the boarding was closed at the same time. As I was in shock not knowing what to do, the guy over the counter said, let him check for the next available flight but it will cost extra. With no other option available, I said "OK" and the guy checked something in his screen and discussed with another guy in the next counter and informed me, just the base fare from HYD - CJB is around Rs. 10, 000. I did not know what to do, and felt so traumatized. Another guy also with the same scenario missed his flight for Pune, and both were given same answers from the Indigo staff at counter. Then after like another 10 minutes, he informed us that he can help us by booking the next available flight with the fare of Rs.2500, but he has to take approvals from his manager. A we both wanted to go home, said "OK" and the guy said he has taken the approvals and told us to pay the amount. As I & the other guy tried to pay the amount by card, he said, the Card swiping machine is broken pointing to the machine and asked us to pay in cash, as there was the ATM just near the counter. I think the counter No is 9 / 10. Once I paid the amount, he handed me the boarding passes for the next flight and same for the other guy too for his flight to pune. As I felt little Ok that at-least now i'm able to go home but still in anxiety and shock, I forgot to ask for receipt. After I reached home, I posted the incident in YATRA about not informing about the flight updates and also realized I did not get the receipt at the counter. I immediately contacted INDIGO about the same in their Facebook page and they responded that usually the staff will provided the ticket only if asked. And then they E-mailed me the Receipt, in which to my shock it was mentioned that I paid only Rs. 1000 for the reschedule of my flight. I inquired them about the remaining Rs. 1500 and they said, that I paid only Rs. 1000 and not a paise more. I confronted them that, I knew what I paid, so do check with the staff who collected the money. they said they will investigate further about this. After a weeks time, I received a call from One Mr. Lal from Vigilance team. He inquired me about the incident and I told him everything about it. After convinced about my concern he said he would help. He provided a list of Photographs and asked me to identify the guy over the counter who provided me the tickets. I immediately identified and he told he will take necessary action. I also submitted a formal written complaint about this incident to the Airports authority. After 2 weeks they refunded me Rs. 1500 saying it will not happen again and sorry for the incident. I felt this was a very bad service from INDIGO, as this is very well can be said as FRAUD. The INDIGO staff over the counter cheated me and the other guy too, pity him, he didn't know all this happened. As I observed how the staff handled both of us, I can guarantee this is not the first time, the staff is committing fraud, he must be doing this for a very long time, unnoticed by the management. So, I hereby wanted to inform all the readers to always ASK FOR RECEIPTS whenever you buy anything from anyone, anywhere.
