and my Wife had the worst experience of Smart-Inn hotel with an unethical and unprofessional staff.
We went to Pune for a purpose of attending my cousins marriage and booked our room in Smart-Inn hotel on 29th of April 2008. The moment I checked the restroom, I found cigarette buds in the dust-bin and the restroom was stinking badly. I got it cleaned from the cleaner.
Next day i.e. on 30th of April 2008 after coming back from my cousins marriage, my wife got into our room to get freshen up. The moment she entered the room, we found that the room was not at all cleaned. I was accompanying my parents in the hotel lobby. My wife came down and we were discussing about our plans for the evening.
As my parents got some Alphonso mangoes for us we transferred it into one plastic bag and my wife went back to keep the mangoes in the room. To her surprise, the room service was done at 4.30 pm and to her surprise the amount of Rupees 4000/- which were kept in the suite case was missing. In half an hours gap all this incident happened. We immediately reported this to the Smart-Inn hotel management and then all the fiasco started.
The person who did the room service, already left for the day. Entire staff knew that we came from Bangalore and the next day morning we are going to Check-out.
Hotel staff did there level best not to involve there higher authorities in this incident and promised us that hotel will pay us back our amount and not to involve police in this case.
Next day morning when I went to ask about my money, the unethical staff of this hotel told me in a rude manner to report an FIR and “do what ever you want, we are not giving your money back”. As they knew we are absolutely helpless because of the time constraint, the manager who is again a contractor arrived at around 10 a.m. and was discussing with his staff for half an hour outside the hotel. When I asked him to come inside the hotel to discuss things, he literally refused to do that and started blabbering that we are the culprits. We decided to report an FIR and so we asked for the details of the service boy and the manager at the time of incident (In this hotel manager gets change 3 times a day) and as shameless and a pig they took half an hour to provide us the details. The moment we thought that everybody is involved in this robbery, it was already 10.45 a.m. and we had to catch our train Udyan express, we were left short of time and couldn’t go through legal proceedings.
All these rascals of smart-inn made our trip a disaster.
Don’t just go by the reasonable charges, you might lose something most valuable like your laptop, jewelry or money after which my friend you will not have time to regret on it. The amount that we lost might be small but the loosing your valuables makes your trip a disaster. Thanks for spending your valuable time.
