Its car on two wheels!
Honda Eterno starts with first kick and takes me to my destination – office. In last 2 years, I hardly remember having troubled by this sturdy scooter. Everyday I travel 30 km and she is my city travel companion.
Sturdy look, powerful braking system, one kick start, stylish indicators-head lamp-tail lights, excellent mileage, quality maintenance service, easy sleek dash board, easy pick-up etc are few key features… I am just in love with.
From Monday to Saturday it is pressed into my service but Sunday it is devoted for my better half. Going sabzi-mandi, carrying that load of 10 atta, visiting shopping malls, exhibitions and excursions is the order of the Sunday and Eterno resumes its Mon-Sat schedule without any complaints.
Any distance is very comfortable with me as long as Eterno is there. I call it Car on two wheels. Pillion rider can sleep on a good road long drive that’s how its suspensions are built. Drive is ever enjoyable and on good roads 70-75 km per hour is the speed I could get. It could beat erroneously overtaking four wheelers. But average speed is 40-50 km/hour in city.
Eterno mileage is just superb, I am getting 48-52 Km/liter which is anytime far better than Hamara Bajaj. Bajaj Chetak was my first scooter which never crossed 40 km/liter irrespective of specialist mechanics trying hard on it. With Bajaj, Jhukao, Girao, Uthao, Jhukao and then kick lagao is very common which is never with Eterno.
Jhukao, Girao is trademark of Bajaj. One kick start is hallmark of Eterno.
Compared to slim-n-sleek Activa, Eterno looks somewhat pregnant. Bikers can slip within narrow gaps but I need to mind shape of my Eterno, standing as if I am car. Maneuvering is slightly difficult on steep curves. But braking is very powerful. Fuel tank capacity is approx 4.5 liter.
At Pune in any traffic jam, you can spot 3-4 Honda Eterno in every 100 vehicles but at Goa you will spot 20-30 Honda Eternos in same sample. I was wondering why Eterno is so popular and dense in Goan market. The reason is simple it can climb mesa and butte with vigor and confidence.
So Eterno is highly trustworthy bike, affordable, and my family companion. When our VVIP’s are going for armored SUV(Sport Utility vehicles) Eterno is one which is giving me VVVIP feeling.
