Buying a bike, that too first bike was not as easy as it looked. I wanted a worth of every rupee I am spending here and so I did a lot of research before narrowing down on Dazy. In case you are in such research, I wish this review also helps a bit in your decision making.

here goes my review on Dazzler after sharing 2200km ride on it..

Firstly..Why Unicorn Dazzler?

I am an young IT guy from Bangalore and I had quiet some preferences like..

Stylish and Modern (great Looks (Subjective of course), adjustable Mono-shock, Rear disk, Front/rear Tubeless tyres, Digital display),

decent Mileage (Around or above 50 kmpl.. Sorry Yamaha),

World class Brand and Quality ( Sorry Bajaj / TVS / Hero !),

Good resale value and service network (Sorry Suzuki),

Budget of around 80K (Sorry Royal Enfield)

Yes.. I got all I was looking in Honda Unicorn Dazzler ..!! so although the price including the accessories got around 83K ON-Road in April 2012 Bangalore.

Mine is a deluxe model with Black/Grey color. Looks amazing with its color work. The additional 1k spent for it was worth it as it enhances the style factor. See it in real to believe rather than in pics.

Then..Unicorn vs Dazzler..??

Yes. I was quite confused if I should go for age old reliable Unicorn or a modern Dazzler. But finally narrowed on Dazzler because,

Modern gadgets like Digital display with clock, Rear Disk brake, front also tubeless, less weight 138kg vs 146kg, Black/Grey Color option with Dazzler Dlx, Better engine tuning for better performance. The extra 4k odd I was spending worth it I guess.

3200 KM with this Silent Monster:

Best things..

Best part of the bike as mentioned in pros is its ride quality. Really excellent. I did drove it until 110kmph with a pavilion rider. Seems like it can go even more. Reaching 90kmph with a pavilion rider also didn't took any effort. Just smooth as if we are riding a speed boat on water or flying in clouds. Didn't feel any vibrations which I though I might. Smooooth and silent. Its the best part about this bike. Just love the smooth rides on calm roads.

Black/Grey color is really stylish with its color and paint job. again its in my view point.

Unless a steep road ahead, Never required to get down to 1st gear even on a double ride unless a steep road. Even at the start, 2nd Gear can take it all. Then even in the 5th gear you can get down as low as 22-24kmph without any engine trembling. What this means is that you dont need to shift gears too much in a city conditions.

Acceleration in the mid range speeds is just awesome.. after 30kmph.. you wont even realize that you are already reaching 75-80kmph.. Soo smooth there..

But the bike is feeling better with the mileage done. Rajeev_Vermacially after the 1500KM its has improved a lot. Gears also started responding well than before. Currently loving the rides on it.

Mileage is anywhere between 48-52 from the beginning.. Many say I should not expect more than this for a 150CC. So Okay I guess. But the thing I can't forget it that I use it in Bangalore city traffic. where the traffic is like.. you know....

What is missing or could have been better

Inclusion of engine Kill switch would have been useful while you want to switch off the engine while waiting at signals. Not a big miss though.

Kick rod as an alternative to self. But I never had a problem though. Choke is handy enough. Didn't face a problem even after 20 days of leaving it without starting.

The rear indicator lamps are so wide. Giving some not so good but unique look. Cud have been much more compact in looks.

A mud-guard on rear Tyre like we have on Pulsar 135 would be useful to keep it clean.

Similarity in looks with its smaller brother Twister. Rajeev_Vermacially from front and when seen from a distant. But on a close look its a Tiger VS Fox with tiger like skin.

Experience with the showroom and service centers:

Bought it from Dhruvdesh Mekhri circle Bangalore. Not a great experience as they delivered it to me with a sort of scratch on the silencer guard.Took 45 days to deliver it. Not bad here as they promised time was also the same.

Service center was at Dhruvdesh Jayamahal. Not so pleasant experience again. They keep charging 400/- In the name of some special paint coating even in free services which is rather useless. A simple wash is enough. Then they put a scratch in my second visit on my rear seat handle. which when I asked about it, they did some paint job to cover it up.!

A note to Honda management:

While you are developing great bikes, There needs to be an effort made to improve service experience of the customer. The showrooms and service centers behaves as if they are on a monopoly. Its hard to explain a problem to them. They are so busy. I didn't face the problem yet but seems like there is a big problem with spare parts. Improve on here. Because building Great bike alone is not sufficient. You hear me??

Finally:

Although I have covered up quite some negatives.. they are all sort of minor.. and good to have options or a matter of getting used to it. I am already in sync with my machine. So I would definitely say YES to this bike.. Looking at my bike and its performance, two of my friends decided to go with Dazzler..!! what else should I say??

Thanks and hope this review helped in making your decision..Like many reviews did during my research on buying a bike. Good luck..
