TOP 3 HINDI TV SERIALS. Review on Five Best Serials of the Year

Though the title of this review is five best serials of the year I am restricting myself to only top 3 hindi tv serials.

The ratings of the serials keep moving up and down the charts depending on their story line at that time. In the past we have had serials like kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi, kkusum, kasauti..zindagi kay ruling the roost, but right now these serials are in dump as their story lines are getting worse by the day(* well this is the case with most of Ekta Kapoor serials *).

Here are the TOP 3 HINDI TV SERIALS(*strictly in the order of merit and yaa they also belong to the popular category *):

1. Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii : Surprise Surprise!! Ekta Kapoor's serial and that

too No.1 !! Yes people....right now this serial is the most gripping one amongst

the popular TV soaps. After the serial has taken a 20 year leap it has only become better. The story line is full of twists & turns and is filled with the bad guys...or should I say the bad gurlz. Infact the vamps of this serial have over powered the protagonists not only in terms of role but also in terms of performances. Pallavi (Sweta Kawatra) is fabulous to say the least!! She is the life of KGGK and also the reason to watch this serial.So is Monalika(i dun know her name) & Ambika( the new 1 is good too). Om (as the helpless father) is getting alot of role nowadays & is doing a gr8 job of it. Parvati is keeping low nowadays and has been side-lined for quite some time now. Shruti as the obstinate daughter is also doing a good job.

1. Astitva...ek prem kahani : A very realistic serial with no over the top acting, customs or dialogues. This serial has given Niki Aneja's (was initially known as Madhuri Dixit look-alike) career a new lease of life. Niki fits the role of  Dr.Simran Mathur to the T . Until this serial I never thought highly of Niki Aneja, but she has changed every body's opinion of her with Astitva. Abhimanyu(Varun Badola)

as Dr.Simran's ex-husband is okay and so is Dr.Manas(Harsh Chhaya...mainly because he does not have an interesting role to play).The girl playing the role of Kiran nowadays is passable ..the earlier one was fab.The actress who plays the role of Abhimanyu's mom has done a gr8 job. I simply love to hate her in the serial. But the serial is going nowwhere nowadays. Things are moving at a very slow pace. And I guess Ajay Sinha...the director(the man behind Hasratein)..has gone bonkers these days. He's bumping off characters left and right. Imagine he bumped off Anandi!!!(Abhimanyu's sister) on a silly pretext. She was one of my favourites. Just beacuse he is out of ideas how can he kill the characters like this?? In the past he has bumped off Simran's mom, Rahul(Rashmi's husband) and now Anandi(this is the limit!!!) and yaa has also replaced Kiran(when the earlier was sooo good and fitted the role to the T), has replaced Rashmi thrice, Kavita once(Simran's sis). The only reason it is in the top 3 is bcoz of Niki Aneja. She is the only reason why I watch this serial. Dont be surprised ppl....if Mr.Ajai Sinha replaces her also one day (he has done it in the past...in Hasratein he replaced the main protagonist Savee(from Seema Kapoor to Shefali Chhaya).

1. Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin : Without the mention of this serial one cannot list the Top 3. Though I know Jassi is the numero uno these days..a welcome break from saas-bahus...but right now the story is getting very boring. It definitely needs a big boost. How about revealing the real Jassi??(believe it or not she is model Mona Singh....the Asian Paints ad one). Without a doubt Jassi has done a marvellous job.She is absolutely in-character.A flawless performance. Armaan Suri(Apoorva Agnihotri) is irritating...he has the same monotonous style of acting ...either he is shouting or smiling around. Parmeet Sethi adds his dose of humour. Armaan's girl friend Mallika( played superbly by Rakshanda Khan) is hot! The foolish secretary Pari, the gaggle of other secretaries, the gay fashion designer Maddy , Jassi's family all contribute to make this serial worth watching.

And this is a special award to the most irritating, disgusting & boring of all serials....and it goes to * Kahin to Hoga **. Trust me guys...this serial is filled with so-called actors who ham to the limit..you literally feel like pulling your hair out watching Kashish, Sujal & Piyush act??!!
