I just completed 2 years with my Flamenco Red Fiat Linea. I am supremely satisfied by the performance of
the vehicle. I will discuss both the bad and good things about the car which I have experienced in last 2 years.
I will start with bad things:
1) Underpowered A/C but Fiat rectified it in Old Lineas by installing new Kit. Fan sound has increased because of new Kit, but its normal.I've confirmed this with dealer and outside garage.
2 Low GC- It is bane for our pot holed roads but boon on Highway . I will still call it bad as most of my driving is done in city only.
3) Spares take long time. The car met with an accident, its underbelly got scratched and its silencer and fuel pump and the engine guard got damaged. It took around 45 days for the dealer to get the spares.
4) Turning radius- Turning radius is Highest in its class- Its because 4560 mm length, but it gets painful in congested U-Turns in Bangalore.
5)Cabin space is on lower side , however 5 adults can sit in Linea comfortably.
Now the good things:
1) Superb Ride and Handling both in city(Provided roads are good) and Highway. The ride and handling is so good that other cars which I have driven looks like carry the DNA of a rattle snake. Minimal Body roll.
2) Looks- Nothing to write about it. Maserati like nose makes it best looking in its class.
3)Brakes- Brakes are really very good, coupled with ABS+EBD , it instills lot of confidence.
4)Features- Again nothing to write about it. Loaded with features. Music system by blaupunkt is average.Since, I am not a very avid lover of music so it dosen't matter much, but yes for music lovers at least Speaker upgrades are required.
5)One does nott feel tired even after long drives.Lot of leg space for front passengers, I am 6'1 and its pleasant to have so much so much space.
6) Headlights are very good.Whenever I drive my i10 in night , I crave that someone should sit on its bonnet with big lights to make the things visible.High beam of Linea is extremely strong.
7)After Sales and Service- This might come as shocker to some people , but its true, A.S.S of prerna motors in Bangalore is very good. I've not a single complaint against them. The only time they faltered was during the availability of spares in 45 days.
8) Not a single breakdown in last 2 years.
9) No niggles so far.
I have not mentioned anything about fuel efficiency. To be frank I haven't tested it in my last 2 years not even by using Trip meter. On rough side I think it gives an average about 10-11 in city and 14-15 on Highway but these are just guesses.
I think this review might help for all those who are considering a C Segment car.
