Fastway is the only cable service provider in Punjab Chandigarh. Hence no choice for users other than to go for satellite DTH. I have been using this cable service since inception in our city. No major problem except the non uniform monthly charges. For normal digital service the announced charges are 230 (for first)+ 130(for second multiroom) . But their cable agents charge 250+150.
The central customer care is always available. A good side from the service provider. But problem solving and complaint attendance is poor. Recently started HD service. They announce 350 monthly charges for HD and 150 for 2nd non digital transmission service. HD STB had to be purchased by consumer out rightly by paying 3000/- which I dared to opt to have a taste of HD service. They give 500 exchanged price for old STB which I purchased earlier.
The HD service is normal neither bad nor be termed as excellent. All the pay channels are given free with this package. Six Video on demand channels are given with this package. Not the bad bargain until the operator comes for monthly rental collection.To my utmost annoyance he asked me for Rs.600/-(350+250) which I refused to pay until I got the clearance from Fastway. I had to call customer care four to five times for clarification.
They clarified that the charges should not me more than 500/- for both the connection. So I refused to pay the Local cable Agent "M/s Bala Ji Cable Service. I had a little hot conversation with cable agent on this issue. Although Rs. 100/- extra is not a major issue, but it is clear cut loot on part of Cable Agent. So Had to talk to senior customer care executive twice. Initially they keep on telling that the charges asked by Cable Agent are not reasonable. But later on they started making excuse like the agent can charge service tax etc etc. This is a fix for me either to pay rent as demanded by cable agent or forget Rs. 3000/- which will become junk if I opt out from fastway cables and go for satellite DTH service.
I wish the other user to beware from these corrupt practices of Fastway along with local cable operators. It is better to opt for satellite DTH service.
