Chelavara Falls is one of the most beautiful falls in Coorg which is located about 26 km away from Madikeri and around 8 km from Virajpet and it is one night journey from Bangalore.
I enjoyed this fall with my husband when we visited this beautiful Coorg hill station in the year 2012. This fall is popularly known as Embepare which means Tortoise rock in the local language.
From the waterfall, visitors can view the water gushing through the green coffee plantation. Another interesting thing about this fall which is different from others is that you can enjoy your shower and water fund here because there is plain land just beneath the fall where this fresh water gets collected which converts into a small water pond. You can enjoy here in the splashes of water and there is no risk except at peak monsoon season when the water flow is very hard and rigorous.
The natural scenic beauty around the falls makes it one of the most exciting places of Coorg. There are some other exciting place near to this fall which will enhance the joy and experience to this place. I still recall the memories of my adventure and pretty sure that this monsoon I may visit again, but this time with full family.
