A sad experience so far from CanFin Homes Ltd. Everyone in my family suggested I go for a nationalised bank for a Home Loan this time for my 2nd 2BR flat. Though my experience with HDFC Ltd. was lot better than this for my previous loan.
They started my loan filing in September and collected all needed documents. Processing fee was not waived off even when some other nationalised banks did this for Diwali.
Like all nationalised banks they are very delibrate in collecting all kinds of documents.
I provided them my printed salary slips, as all MNCs provide these days, but would look for a company seal/attested payslip :) Then they look for my 6 month bank statement on Bank letterhead.
Someone tell them a phone call to verify one's identity is better than accepting these logos and seals, which is very easy to create in these days of Technology... Old habits die hard is teh term I would use for them.
The lady who deals with customers is blunt and rude too. I reached them via one of my aquaintance who is a renowned builder, still they had me come down to their Nehru Place office almost 3 times for small things like this document is needed, bring that one, etc etc. I have requested them several times that whatever you need from me, make a request once so that I may bring them the next time as the place is almost 50 odd KMs from my place but they give a damn' about their customers, as it's our need to approach them.
Question: What would one feel like when he submits all his documents in September and the bank takes one month to file the case. Come November and the bank asks him for his current month's updated documents like bank statment, salary slips etc. ? LOLZ! They are funny... I almost had an argument when them yesterday when I questioned if they would need all my documents repeatedly every month now on?
They are honestly a true copy of a Govt. office... Though they have a nice infrastr. but work pattern is the same. 1st person would direct you to 2nd, 2nd would ask you to reach out to the 3rd and so on.
If a I ever get a chance I would ask them, are we taking a loan for free? Don't u see we pay for the services.
I used to think the HDFC Ltd. was slow in file processing for my previous loan, but looking at their work style, it makes me feel I was wrong for the former.
HDFC Ltd was very good at their customer services and response to queries... Everything was online and I didn't had to run around asking for favors.
Well, it's just the beginning... Let's hope I have a pleasant time with them ahead.
