I had visited Bharat Petroleum petrol bunk @ Delhi NarayAnasultanppa on BAnasultanswadi main road, Bangalore, Karnataka, yesterday, i.e. 16/06/2019 between 11.25 a.m. to 11.45 a.m, with my Honda Unicorn 160 bike, bearing vehicle number KA 03 JA 4623. I already had some petrol in my petrol tank i.e. around 3-4 litres and hence decided to make a full tank, which I usually do. I advised the petrol filling man to do so and in the mean time, opened the fuel tank lid. Immediately from nowhere, the cash collector came and started cleaning the fuel tank lid, without even advising him to do so. Later, me and my wife noticed that the running meter reading had already crossed Rs. 375, but waited till the tank got filled. And to my surprise, he stopped the full tank at Rs. 730/- I then argued with him as to how can a tank be filled beyond its capacity, for which at first, they kept quiet and on repeated argument agreed to check the CCTV cameras. Post that, he bought some hand held machine and said that the meter was not reset to 0. He later agreed that the petrol filled in my tank was for Rs. 530/-. I did not argue and paid the amount as I had to rush for an occasion. I also saw them grinning among themselves as they had been caught.
I have always trusted Bharat Petroleum and always make it a point to fill my fuel tank for my car and 2 two wheelers. But, boys like these bring disrepute to this brand and make me feel insecure to visit their pumps further. I did not want to record this on my mobile phone, as usage of same in petrol bunks is banned.
I humbly request consumers to beware and save themselves from getting duped. Also, all these attention driving tricks should be strictly dealt with.
