INTRODUCTION

I just dived into the movie last Saturday because I had only a few choices - Naach, Veer-Zara and this one. I chose this one only because the songs in the movie were good and Akshay Kumar was in it and the movie smelled like a thriller even if it is not completely like that.

I went alone as I am afraid that if some one else was it me, they would have made me go for Veer-Zara. I had not been in an emotional mood to see a sentimental movie.

The movie is different from others only due to the theme used - in a country like India, were sexual harassments take place on women, is there any chance that a woman could try and succeed in sexually harassing a male?

The movie would have done better at the box office for sure if Veer-Zara wasn't there. Abbas-Mustan has used the most common theme of Bollywood now - sex. But, the movie fails to live upto the expectations, especially with the stylish advertisements and trailers shown on the television.

THE PLOT

The beginning of the movie is with love story which is too bad to hear. Raj Malhotra (Akshay Kumar) wants a servant in the house, but Priya (Kareena Kapoor) who is to go for an interview accidently reaches there and love drops in and she is appointed as the life partner.

Raj who is an engineer in Renjith Roy's (Amrish Puri) mobile company is expecting a promotion as the C.E.O of the company, but what he gets is the higher post as one of the Board of Directors when Renjith's wife Sonia (Priyanka Chopra) reads out the names with a gorgeous or rather mysterious smile on her face.

Flashback:- Raj was in love with an ambitious girl Sonia. After some months of relationship, she gets pregnant, but she doesn't want to get married nor to give birth to a baby as she want to continue modelling and reach higher places. Raj is quite disappointed and angry as they split their relationship right there.

Present:- Sonia is one of the most powerful women and she calls Raj to her house when she is home alone for discussing about some error in mobile phones. Raj comes with the necessary files, but what she wants is no mobile phone.

What she wants is to continue the affair with him that she broke long ago as she is almost sex starved from her old husband whom she married for money and money only.

She promises to give him anything he wants and get him to a post he never expected to reach. Raj didn't seem to be ready to cheat his wife as he rejected the offer. Sonia's threats didn't have any effect on him as he walked right out of there.

The next day, Sonia complains to her husband that Raj tried to rape her and he asks a resignation letter from Raj for what he did. Raj refuses to resign and files the case that Sonia tried to seduce him.

But it is hard to believe that a woman seduced a man and thus he takes a large amount of risk? Who will win? The non-cheater or the seductress? Remember, Priya is with him on this situation.....

If this was a typical Bollywood movie, Akshay would have gone the jail and will come back later to get his revenge on the girl and the husband, but this movie was surely different.

PERFORMANCE

Akshay Kumar is not bad in the movie, but he would have been better in action roles. But he surely does his job upto some extent from the beginning to the end even with some sleepy looks in his eyes, not knowing exactly where he is.

Kareena Kapoor is not bad, and does very well in the court scene at the final stages where she accelerates her performance just like a ''Comet'' or something.

Amrish Puri got nothing to do other than laughing, getting angry and saying minimum dialogues. Parwesh Rawal has done the job very well as the lawyer coming out of the comedy roles he always do - does add a bit of comical style into the serious times.

Priyanka Chopra has done a wonderful job as the ''dangerous seductress''. She finally gives some impressive performance. Her looks seems to be somewhat similiar to Mallika Sherawat, isn't it?

CONCLUSION

I think that the movie would have been less annoying if the first ''love at first sight'' scene was avoided - can anything be too ridiculous than that? Take a CD and fast forward those scenes and watch.....or you will be sleeping even before getting inside the story. The end of the movie was too much predictable to me!

The movie does well to show the two kinds of women - the loving, the most caring one with the determination, seflessness and confidence as well as the seductive, selfish, evil side, ready to do anything to achieve what she wants. The movie got a good theme as the phase of the society is changing every day and who knows what is coming next.
