Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo is another Indo-Pak relationship movie.
During the film we were not sure what every characters actually thinks about peace. Amitabh talks about his son and grandson Bobby proving them in the war. And then Tilak (Kapil Sharma) proudly says he will kill at least 25 people in war. So this makes us to think it?s a war movie or peace movie because this dialogue creates the feeling of desperation for war. The film is misguided and unclear about its message, and seems to be hidden anti-Pak sentiment packaged under the mask of a film promoting brotherhood. The movie seems more communal than patriotic.
It is a mess of several missions - one different mission for each hero in the film - and enough to confuse the viewer. It starts off well loses its pace in the middle and the climax is not impressive.
Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo begins with Vikramjit Singh a ship captain (Bobby Deol), sacrificing his life for the nation and want his son Kunal (again, Bobby Deol) to do the same. Kunal has been forced to join the army by his grandfather (Amitabh Bachchan) to fulfil his fathers wish. While his army unit vacationing in Rajesthan he falls in love with Shweta, already happily married to Rajeev (Akshay Kumar) also an army man.
There is also Sakshi (Sandhali Sharma) an army doctor who loves Kunal and never tells him. In the whole movie she only makes a fake medical certificate for her lover, so she did not have much to do in movie. Anyway finally the story builds up to the final mission - the Amarnath Yatra which the terrorists plan to destroy with RDX. And as usual in Hindi movie hero saves everything without dying of course. Only difference is this time they got help from Pakistan as well.
The film's music is average. Ms. Khosla doesn't have much to do, she is below average. Akshay is okay as usual nothing different except his baseless shayari. Bobby is good. Amitabh Bachchan is seen far too often in the officer roles and has nothing at all new to offer in this uniform again. He has started looking and acting very monotonous. Nagma has only few scenes.
Ashutosh Rana is stunning. Danny performed well his part Story line is not strong from Shaktimaan. Cinematography is fine by Kabirlal. Action from Tinu Verma is average. According to me it?s a disappointment from presenter K. C. Sharma and director Anil Sharma. Advice to watch on DVD or CD.
This is a small review because nothing much to write about this movie.
