Before watching this drama - it is important to know that this drama was made with the support of John Hopkins - to promote awareness of 'family planning' in Pakistan. Needless to say - there is a very strong SOCIAL message coming out of this drama!

The story begins with a newlywed couple - Sania Saeed and Salman Ahmad (front man for the band Junoon)... they're young and happy and planning for the future. Fast forward to 6 years later! In 6 years, the couple has had 4 children... and all daughters....

The drama deals with essentially... the poor health that results from having too many kids too quickly... the financial implications... the social pressures of having a 'son'..etc...etc

The thing I liked about this drama was that it wasn't super preachy - the 'morals and messages' were subtley hidden within the story of the drama. Also, since this is rather a delicate topic in Pakistan - I thought the material was handled well. Probably because they hired Haseena Moeen and Sahira Kazmi to write/direct - and they did a great job!

Salman Ahmad was so-so in his role (afterall he is musician not an actor), but Sania Saeed was great! At the time she was in the drama, she was very young (maybe 18), but she did a great job playing the harassed and tired mother of 4 girls! My hats off to her.
