C'mon,place ur bets. Review on 40 Days & 40 Nights Movie

This is an out 'n out gross ,all holds barred romantic (not exactly in true sense,but still...) comedy.Nowadays all comedy movies r more or less gross but that's it ,it completely lacks that tickling humour value(eg slackers).This is where the movies like American Pie,Road Trip,Heathers 'n this one scores out ,where under-the-belt kind offa jokes really jells with the stoyline.

Coming to the story line ,there's nothin' much to hold back,so its abt a horny guy(Josh Hartnett) who after some failed plutoinc relationships hits upon a novel spiritual ideeah of coming in grips with getting over his urges,yes by practising celibacy for 40 days.Celibacy as per his vow is no sex , no kissing,no nibbling etcetc 'n lastly ,worse is the fad of even no masturbation ,overall reducing him to be satisfied only with mental orgasms.Somehow this personal vow spills over among his friends circle (courtsey his roommate) 'n this becomes the hot topic over internet 'n is the centre of all bettings as to whether he can succeed in practising celibacy for 40 days.Then there r those hot babes who r all out to seduce him.In midst of all this , some hot chick is head over heels over this guy 'n as usual he develops hot pants for this cutie ,'n the situation reaches an unbearable boiling point with the passage of each day 'n night.From this point ,lemme leave something for u to place ur bets on, as to whether ,can he be in control of his raging hormones,for 40 looooonnnggg days .

As for the cast, Hartnett ,is in a totally contrasting role from his earlier serious movies like Pearl Harbour 'n Black Hawk Down 'n has done a good job is his comic role 'n is always gasping for breath thro' out the movie. Then there lots of minor charecters (some of whom u wud have seen in other teen movies)'n bevy of beauties 'n r all quite hilarious in their minor roles.

This may not be a cult comedy classic movie, 'n is never aimed at being one 'n so dont read much meaning into its shortcomings.Its just one of those freak out ,riotously hillarious movie.This movie is full of sexual slurs 'n some graphic moments ,so how much is too much is left to the individual. With such a doggy storyline, one cant expect the movie to be quite naive afterall ,right? Anyway if u 've liked American Pie then u wud definitely luv this one for sure.If A.Pie is all abt getting laid ,this movie in contrast is abt escaping from getting laid.
