Hi,

I need to mention that I have been a regular watcher of Aparna Sen movies and the latest one 15, Park Avenue, left me a wee bit disappointed towards the end. The movie overall is brilliant with carefully

carved characters and well written too!

Moreover, each character has his or her own depth in terms of script. The ending, which may have been deliberate is a bit too confusing for thought. I think clarity to the film would definitely left the audience awe-struck. Should there be anyone who can decipher the end, please let me know!

The film also has it’s shades of guilt, helplessness and emotive nuances. Shabana Azmi for her part is prolific and so is Kokana Sensharma. Rahul Bose is one of those few actors who can carry off anything that interests him magnificently. Being interested in a role is another thing and executing it to one’s best ability is another story altogether.

Surprisingly the make-up is great too, something unexpected for an understandably ’’arty’’ film should lack! Although there cannot be comparisons drawn to Mr. & Mrs Iyer, one can only say that Aparna Sen excels in every frame from her first film to the latest offering. You would need to have loads of patience to watch through, but if you do, you’ll definitely see what I mean!

Artistically yours

PRERNA
