Wagah border experience March 2024
Mar 10, 2024 08:28 AM 273 Views (via Mobile)

Visited Wagah border ceremony with my 80yrs old parents..somehow could get a seat since we reached early but then as the parade started, all people stood up despite the regular instructions for public to sit down. because of this, my parents could not see the event completely.

After the event the crowd was crazy, old people, kids had to be carefully got out. Most imp is wash rooms- there were hardly any wash rooms to cater to such a big crowd and was in a very state of hygiene.

Request concerned authorities to take steps to add more pay and use washrooms specially for women and senior citizens.

The experience could have been memorable if all people followed some discipline to allow others to enjoy the ceremony.

Great experience at wagha border thanks to Mr sing

Good place to see but not well managed
Jun 27, 2019 03:16 PM 2274 Views

I visited this border on 21 May, 2017.I hereby share my fond memories. We booked a cab and it was a shared cab from Amritsar. The touts cum taxi drivers captured us and took down our names and contact numbers. Then we waited unlimited time. The accessibility is not up to the highest standard. The road is badly broken up to the border.

We got off and started walking. It is full of hustle and bustle. The actual problem started that two lines are there for men and women. The lines are not approaching with the equal speed. All phones were submitted to one person at the taxi stand. My son lagged behind and I reached the gate. The road was slippery after rain. The seats were booked and many tourists stood on the queue. There was a big jostle.I stood near the gate.It was unintelligible how many tourists entered the barricaded area.Inside a lot of performances were going on.The sounds of bugles, trumpets, drums came out but we could see nothing.Only a feel of patriotism touched us but we could not see any colourful displays. The security could not control the rush. The local sightseeing is not hugely appreciable but the programs are not well managed and curtailed. There is no good accomodation nearby.I did not see.I did not find any good quality hotel.Safety can be guaranteed or ensured up to the sun-set.I can say that the place is good but not well managed.Accessibility can further be improved.

I recommend but get information before going. It is so so

I have visited to bagha border in 6th class. I was very excited before going their. There was big crowd in bagha border. The march past of military was outstanding. I got a chance to run with my friend by holding national flag. We had taken a group photo. The photo is still with me. The gates of India and Pakistan were opened. I can still remember the moment. The dresses of Pakistan's military were black. There were less people in Pakistan's side than India's side. The caps of military were very different. I liked the trip.

Wagah Border Beating Retreat Ceremony 2018

Can you Expects to what happens at Indian BORDERS?

There are Wars.there are Merciless and killing all over.

The Blood Pools of soldiers are all over.

BUT CAN YOU IMAGINE SOMETHING REAL INSPIRING AND HAPPENING AT ATTARIE BORDER .

When I was Small I use to watch an advertisement of "Fevikwik-todo nahi jodo", that was the time I came to know about the WAGAH BORDER CEREMONY and the parade that was going on there. Because the WAGAH BORDER CEREMONY seems to be really happening somewhere across Indian borders I was really anxious to know about it after gathering information.

So today I would like share some of my memoires of this CEREMONY with you all!

The advertisement characterized that the WAGAH BORDER BEATING RETREAT CEREMONY is a daily military practice that the security forces of India starts everyday prior to sunset. This ceremony takes place every evening before sunset at the Wagah border, which as part of the Grand Trunk Road was the only road link between these two countries, Amritsar(India) and Lahore(Pakistan). The ceremony starts with a blustering parade by the soldiers from both sides, and ends up in the perfectly coordinated lowering of the two nations' flags.

The WAGAH BORDER BEATING RETREAT CEREMONY was started in the year 1959 and since then The soldiers of this ceremony are specially appointed and trained for this auspicious ceremony. They also have a beard and moustache policy for which they are paid additionally.

Border Security Force(BSF) of India and Pakistan Rangers of Pakistan, have jointly followed the drill and they participate and organize the parade. People from Both the countries and especially the local folks over as well as international tourists feel honored and privileged to be there!

ON THE INDIAN SIDE

To Capture the attention of everyone, the Indian Soldiers and higher officials play Bhangra music and there is an magnetize response from the Indian crowd. Indian Women irrespective of age factor, actively dance over there, small children run holding huge Indian Flags. Now a days there is a short cultural programme also done by local folk dancers.

Both the Indian and Pakistani border forces of the border shout theis country names and a shouting March begins as the sun sets, the iron gates at the border are opened and the two flags are lowered simultaneously. The flags are folded and the ceremony ends with a retreat that involves a brusque handshake between soldiers from either side, followed by the closing of the gates again.

Hope this WAGAH BORDER BEATING RETREAT CEREMONY, creates a very strong patriotism among every Indian.

So .let's promise to maintain the brotherhood for both countries all the time!

After coming to know about this and watching a video of it,

I really feel like going there to witness those proud moments, on live!

What about you friends ……

Here is the URL that might help you, in knowing the procedure of WAGAH BORDER BEATING RETREAT CEREMONY.

Great Experience

I've visited Wagah Border once and enjoyed very much there. It is approx. 5-6km away from golden temple and auto rickshaw and jeeps are available there and you can travel with your own vehicle also. The main timing is in the morning and the evening when the flag host and flag retrace take place. I've attended the evening one. It was hot scorching eve, and we have parked our car and walked to the border which was 1 km away from there. When we entered the gate, it was like a stadium there and there were thousands of Indians cheering. Beside the main border gate, there was Pakistan and we can see their people but we were more in number. After waiting for half an hour at 5: 30 , the host entered and the parade ceremony started. The host was making us shout loud “India! India! ”. And our patriotic feeling started to come out. There were ice cream and water bottles available. I really enjoyed the moment when the main gate was opened and our and their soldiers are showing their power. Obviously, our was best. Really, a best historical place. Must visit.

I was went to Punjab Amritsar with my brother in February 12, 2014. We're visited all tourism places in Amritsar Harmandir Saheb Golden temple, Jaliwana wagh, and Wagah Border. We're was went to Wagah Border in the 3rd day of our visiting punjab. Then we're booked a taxi then we're arrived at wagah border after traveling 1 hour in taxi. This is India and Pakistan border place and everyday their was celebrate the retreat pared between India and Pakistan, thousand of thousand people's of both countries.its very interesting and energetic performance by both countries army soldiers. I'm very happy to seen this. Their are many security checks points to enter in Wagah Border and to watch the pared. Security system is awesome I'm impressed and I'm feel very safety.

Their are no hotels to stay. I had to come back Amritsar fir hotel rooms. It's distance is from wagah border is 30 to 35 km.

The place was very good for me people's are good it's good place to visit for everyone. Safety place.

Wagah border parade, Government should act.
Aug 14, 2017 03:49 PM 5905 Views (via Mobile)

The parade is held daily and one of the crowd puller for Punjab tourism. Most of the times it's easy entry and seating. But on some days it becomes hell like situation. People faint, people miss the company and people push old and senior citizens in the crowd.

Good arrangements are a must. It's even better if the passes are issued well in advance from city office. It's humiliating when we que up for hours, travelling from farthest place of India or abroad, but in the end not getting the seat. Government of India and government of Punjab should look into the system and solve the problem.

Every Indian must visit here at least once in life

Every Indian will get goosebumps during the show when the Armed Forces of India march in front of arch rival nation and salutes the Tricolor of India.

  • The Wagah Border in accessible through road. It is situation about 30-35 Km away from the city of Amritsar. You can hire a cab for your family or on sharing basis.

  • Every evening a march and show is organised by the Border Seurity Forces(BSF) from Indian side and the Pakistani Rangers from that side. Every citizen there cheers for country and Armed Forces along with slogans. Also, there is the tallest Indian Tricolor flag at the border which is 360 feet tall and weighs 55 tons.

  • Unfortunately, cause of cold relations with the neighbor country Pakistan and security purposes, there are no accommodation for Indian citizens but special arrangements are made for foreigners as they are special guests in the country and we believe in Atithidevo Bhava!

  • 24x7 security of the place is in hands of the BSF with high-end surveillance.

The place is Indo-pak border in punjab. The place is also known as Attari border. You can visit this place for falg hoisting ceremony in morning or flag lowering ceremony in evening. The people are very excited to see the indian army doing flag ceremonies so there is huge crowd present over here.Whether it be monsoon or any other season but flag is always raised by our indian BSF soldiers everyday. The security over here is very tight sonce the place is very close to the Indo-Pak border. One can only carry their smartphones or any other camera devices and only wallet. There is strict instruction given that ony carrying of any plastic bags or carry bags also the powerbank is restricted for takin in not only this but you are not allowed to carry bisleri bottles.I think to get true feeling of patriotism one must definitely visit this place. The BSF soldiers are very calm and always ready to take selfies with everyone. The seats are very limited so one has to be on time since it is first come first serve base but worries if you are not able to get in then there is a huge display outside on which you can see the event taking place, but it wont give you feel like inside.I would recommend to reach this place 1 to 1.5 hour before the starting of ceremony once you enter You will definetly get Goosebumps when you see the BSF i.e.INDIAN ARMY.????

Upset about Wagah border

After Finish938844ing Darshan @ Golden Temple as advised by all to reach Wagah border at the early hours of evening as theceremony was to start @ 5:00.

As we family of 6 with 2 kids and my old parents with 79 yr old father and 72 yr old mother with us.

Already it was April month with hot scratching sunny day.Our bad luck was that it was a Saturday too with overcrowded people.

We had all the way had come from Bangalore to show the pride of our Indian Army but Alas!

No discipline was happening there.

We had to stand in a long que for security check up .My Hubby had gone for Car parking, then a BSF gaurd told we cannot carry any purse or bag with us .I had to send my son to keep the belonging.

As my parents were old, they will be very slow in their movements so I sent them in the que first, I waited for my Son to come back.

For a movement I got worried as almost all of us got separated in the rush except for me and my 7 yr old Daughter.

With In few minutes my prayers got Faizabad as I could meet my son and my hubby who had gone for parking. Now still trouble didn't yet as I had to find my parents who had gone with the que.

My Worries were Intact_Automation as I could not find them in the moving crowd, but still we still continued searching .

I was cursing myself as why I got them here in such a mess and when I murmur420ing I got to see them both.

I thanked God n no of times!

After undergoing such a dirturbance we continued walking near the ceremony stadium.

As we neared it after walking nearly 1-2 km, there is an Announcement saying the stadium is full and people have to stay out and can watch the ceremony from outside Display screen. To add to this Even the display screen was of such a poor quality one.The efforts which we got to watch the so called'Beauty of Indian regiment' vanised .

What upset us was, why was it handled so poorly, no cleAnliness in the sorroundings. So many questions run in my Mind, Is our Army so weak that it cannot control an ordinary Indian crowd. Then How it is controlling and protprotecting our country. Am very sorry to say this.I am a big Fan of Indian army and will be but my experience @ WAGAH border upset me.

My only request is to improve the arrangements @ Wagah Border for the PuRobotouchc especially at the weekend with more cleaner and healthier surroundings.

Wagah Border: Patriotic Experience
Jan 14, 2017 12:02 AM 7417 Views

Wagah borderis located on the national highway between Amritsar(India) and Lahore(Pakistan). Our tour bus dropped us on the road. We walked around 1 kilometer to reach Wagah boarder. It was completely different experience. I have visited many placed in India and Canada but the visit at Wagah was the special one.

We reached where we took our sits to enjoy the whole event between Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers. The crowd was increasing the way we were not finding place to sit. We saw whole ceremony by standing.

Then parade was started, it was very energetic, Which I have never seen any other place. There are two gates between India and Pakistan. Our BSF were going to them and they were PR were coming to us. Many songs like vande mataram, mere desh kidharti sona ugale, kar chale ham fida jano tan sathio and more. We were shouting vandemataram, Bhar mata ki Jay with full of energy and feeling of being patriotic. The other side they were playing their songs and shouting in their words. Their side also full of people.

Then finally the Indian and Pakistani gates were opened, the BSF and PR did shake hands and give salutes with their leg moves. Their legs moves are tremendous, splendid up to perfect height. Lastly one BSF man asked one permission to lowering our flags, from other side also taken the same permission from the authorized person. Lowering the both flags was also unique part of the ceremony. This kind of ceremony, you will not find anywhere in the world.

Hey Patriotic people, Come here, and enjoy the breathtaking ceremony!

Wagah border in Amritsar India, is a amazing place which if you visit actually gives you goosebumps. This border is located about 25 km from lahore and about 30 km from Amritsar.

It is actually a demarcation line dividing India and Pakistan. It is known as Wagah in india and wahga in pakistan.

This place is one of the great border to visit as it is the most active border between the 2 countries. It is also special because you can witness the famous Wagah border ceremony that happens at the border gate, 2 hours before sunset each day and this ceremony belive me is just so good and gives you goosebumps each time you view it.

A must visit if you are planning to visit amritsar.

It is very nice scene when soldier opens their border gate, lift their legs high and salutes.

A great feeling comes to your way and anger towards Pakistan.but one must be carefull about pickpocketers there. Everyone must visit this place a beautiful environment with greenry and enthusiasm.

Waah border is one of the most patriotic places in the country and you can see the moment of heat among  soldiers on the either side of the border. Wagah border is a border between India and Pakistan where a regular flag hoisting ceremony takes place every day.

Both the sides try raise their flag first and makes sure that their flag is higher than the other and strictly all measures are done in order to make and impression on each of the country by the soldiers.

It is really amazing to see the soldiers raising their feet and saluting, twirling their mustaches and making a serious face and looking at each other with serious expressions on their faces and try to make an impression and during this time the audiences claps for our Indian soldiers for the display of their valour in front of Pakistan and is truly a very emotional and patriotic moment for the country and you can see many people there getting emotional for their country.

This is a must visit place every Indian, do visit.
