Style matters a lot in the new era. The new age citizens are not an exemption for this phenomenon. Everyone wants to have their own style or follow a style for some cause or benefit. The time has come for us to follow a “New Style of Celebrations” let’s celebrate our age old traditional festival "Diwali" from now on, in a new style, which will not take out the essence of celebrations, but will definitely save the place we live and the place where our future is going to live.

During Diwali, Diyas are lit on the moonless night, which signifies the end of darkness [ignorance] and the beginning of new ray of hope that enlightens the earthly living beings. Well, this Diwali let’s enlighten ourselves by not using hazardous and energy guzzling things, which poses a threat to our environment.

How does Style matters in celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali?

This is the new age, where we have changed a lot in the following styles:

“we lost the art of writing [with pen], but we type our thoughts out…”

“we don’t travel to see people, but we have it through phone / video- conferencing…”

Then why can’t we have an exploding Diwalicelebration and happiness by means our computer and internet. Now there might be myriad questions in your mind on the above statements, which you would like to direct to me:

“We have lost the art of writing; we have lost the art of socializing / meeting with people face to face. How do you compare these with style with eco-friendly Diwali celebrations?”

I totally accept your anguish, my answer for all your questions:

“This is the Future”

It doesn’t mean that things will be totally extinct in near future, but one has to change and accept the change that is changing our future.

How we have started saving environment, by opting for e-statements, e-mail communication, video conferencing etc., it’s now time for us to change our style of celebrating Diwali. May be it sounds funny, but there is a way. Some, simple ways to celebrate Diwali without polluting the eco-system that we live in:

1) Avoid fire-crackers

2) Avoid usage of energy guzzling serial electric lights / appliances

3) Use social networking sites and sites like MS to celebrate and share happiness

4) Use online/offline applications, which simulate lighting up fire-crackers, small rockets etc.,

Will the style change overnight? Not really possible, but we can look forward for the style change by changing our style.

“Have Explosive Joy Without Fire-Crackers”

“Have light moments, than lighting moments”
