Surly hiring the full services of packing and moving can be very comfortable and stress-free for your shifting. If it is under your budget or you are able to hire them, undoubtedly it will be very delightful moving experience. But perhaps it is out of your budget. So what to do? You can hire partial moving services, for example pack and unpack your household items yourselves and let do the rest of works (loading, unloading and transportation) to the professionals. Purchase appropriate packing materials which would be used in packaging of your household items. Useful packing materials are cartons of different sizes, clean papers, cottons, plastic sheets, scissors, tapes, makers, etc. Always use packing materials of good grade.

Make a list of which things you want to take with you and which thing don't want. The list would be very useful to pack your household items in very systematic ways. It would be also useful at the day of moving and making ensure is nothing is missing.

Gather breakable items like glassware, small photo frames, electrical bulbs, etc. Pack your breakable items separately with proper care using papers, cottons etc in small box.

Pack your garments not in cartons or boxes. Pack your garments in suitcases or garments boxes. If it is not possible, Use wardrobe boxes to pack your garments.

Pack your most valuable items with utmost care such as jewellery, documentation, etc. And carry them with you only.

Wrap furniture with blankets or bubble wrap. Secure padding to furniture. Don't use tape directly on your furniture surfaces. Remove legs of furniture if possible.

Pack electronic and electrical items separately such as computer, refrigerators, televisions, CD/DVD players, VCRs etc. While packing these items use original packaging materials.

Pack books in small cartons. And tightly wind up tape them.

Pack kitchenware and dishes in small boxes or cartons with papers and bubble wrap.

Consume up gas cylinder if possible.

Consume up edible items if possible.

Pack boxes and cartons completely full. And make tight with tapes.

Mark boxes with markers to be easily identified. Write name of packed items on the boxes. Write “Fragile” on the boxes in which you have packed fragile and breakable items. Write “Garments” on the boxes of garments, and so on.

At last take a look up of your list of items and make sure that you are not missing anything to pack.

Inform your movers and packers company for your preparation and take a date for moving day.
