Consumers and their opinions on MouthShut have been recognized. MouthShut.com has won the Manthan-AIF Award in a grand ceremony held in New Delhi on August 5, 2006. MouthShut was recognized for its outstanding efforts in the fields of E-content and Creativity in the youth category. The Manthan Awards were held under the aegis of the Digital Empowerment Foundation. The award was conferred upon Mr. Faisal Farooqui, CEO, MouthShut.com by Mr. Sachin Pilot, Member of Parliament.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Farooqui said that MouthShut's "pioneering work in the user-generated content space with a special focus on consumer feedback and opinions is bearing fruits." He added that the award is recognition of the millions of consumers who love to share their opinions on thousands of products and services. It is true indeed. Manthan-AIF Award is a first of its kind initiative in India to recognize the best practices in e-Content and Creativity. Launched in India by Digital Empowerment Foundation in partnership with World Summit Award (sponsored by the United Nations) and American India Foundation , the winning entries from India will compete for the global e-content and creativity awards to be held by the World Summit (sponsored by the United Nations).
