Channel V’s hugely popular show Paanch -5 Wrongs Make a Right would be ending its short but successful run airing its last episode tonight. The show which has found a ‘cult’ status in the young audiences has been appreciated for its thrilling storyline and performances. The story of Paanch is about an 18 year old girl Roshni Kataria who takes admission in the same college where her elder sister was brutally ragged and, murdered. In order to avenge her death from the five seniors who were responsible, Roshni vows for revenge and settle scores with them.

Paanch had begun as an experiment on Channel V and no one thought that it would become a rage, In fact all the three miniseries including paanch were said to join the usual bandwagon. But Paanch stood out as the subject of the show was something the youth could connect immediately with. Add the brilliant performances by the actors Rashi Mal, Sheetal Singh, Kiran Srinivas, Pratap Hada and others put the icing on the cake. The show has been penned by the recently released and critically acclaimed ‘Kya Dilli Kya Lahore’ writer Aseem Arora.

Since the news of Paanch going off air broke out, Fans have expressed their displeasure and have been demanding a season 2 since then. According to sources, it, may be a little tough as the original cast has moved on with their next projects and its only time will tell whether it gets a green light for a season 2. Having said that, Paanch has indeed brought a fresh change on the ever, monotonous and regressive Indian Idiot Box. A good change is always welcomed. The era of miniseries seems to have been returning as Anil Kapoor’s 24 also has been a game changer. And now Amitabh Bacchan shall also debut with finite TV series ‘Yudh’ on fictional category. Here’s wishing all the best to the whole Paanch team for their future endeavours.
