why Google G1 Phone may not be hit like iPhone?

News and Reviews - The long awaited wait to formidable compition for iPhone got over yesterday, when giant Google launched G1 - its Android OS based Mobile Phone. However, the Mee-2 concept by Google was low on every count - looks, features and pricing vis-a-vis revolutionary iPhone. The strategy by Google to get into mobile business is a good one as currently over 3.00 billion people in the world are connected with their Cell-phones compared to only 1.00 billion through PC based Internet. The growth is whooping in the wireless mobile market and is growing over 25% year-on-year with leadership coming from India, China and Africa. Google’s vision is to dominate Advertizing business (M-Commerce) for years to come hence the launch of G1 is a good move to cement its leadership. Miguel Helft of New York Times has given a good analysis why G1 is not the best alternative and competition for iPhone or Blackberry. But nevertheless a good start.
