Oh,it's another boring day. No specific work, and nothing else to do.
Thursdays always seem quite boring to me. The weekend seems too far,and the rush of the beginning of a week is also not there. Once your daily chores are done, and your spouse leaves, you have a long boring day lying ahead, with no promise of any kind of fun at all. So what do I do generally to cope with this situation? Well, that's what I am going to discuss.
I am a very lazy person in real life. And I feel most annoyed when I have to prepare a meal for myself. It always ends up in some sort of khichdi, or curd rice..........seeing which my appetite vanishes instantly! It makes my day even more boring, and after the meal I just feel like nothing else but sleeping. To kill the boredom I found out some new way. On Thursdays,I spend the lonely hours by trying out some new recipes which,i am sure, will be enough to turn somebody like Sanjeev Kapoor completely mad! In his wild imagination also he has not thought such weird recipes,I can bet. Which kind of recipe? Well, let me tell you. But before starting,my sincere advice is,never try these at your home,I don't want to make enemies, especially In Mouthshut.
I have tried making a special omelet with diferent vegetables. these were sambar vegetables, minus the drumstick. Even I added some Sambar masala in that, and to my surprise,I enjoyed this "Sambar Omelet" quite well. Next recipe is Mixed rice. If I have some leftover curry, I make it dry in microwave or in a pan. Then I add some rice in it,add my choice of spices and seasonings, heat it for sometime, and remove. It generally tastes well.Once my brother visited my house when I had nothing to offer him. I tried one of my Thursday recipe, and it became a favorite of my bro. I soaked puffed rice in water, drained, and mixed it with Puliogare masala. And served this to him with fresh salads. I have made Ice lollies with fresh fruit juice which is again a great success. Other successful recipes are vegetable idli, jackfruit biryani,Bread Bhaji, rava poori, egg samosa, and so on.
But things don't go well always. Many of my recipes turned to be a disaster. I tried to make a pickle of drumstick, which tasted awful. Another time,I tried making Murighnto, a delicacy from Kolkata, with my own choice of spices.............it smelled so bad that nobody was able to eat it that day. Well, great results come out after testing and failure only. The main disaster came on the day I tried to prepare green dosa. I boiled some leafy vegetables, mashed those with some spices, and added to dosa batter. Then I fried it in common way. But it tasted bad,and also was stinking. My hubby scolded me a lot,and asked for a break from such weird inventions. I stopped for a while, and came back with double enthusiasm.
Nobody can stop me from doing this, after all the kitchen is my kingdom!
If any of the MS members visit my house, don't be scared, I will not show my special culinary skills. My hubby says, I am an excellent cook, except my weird experiments.......................please don't book LIC in advance before visiting us. :)
