Sometimes Fear is Good
Jo dar gaya, samjho mar gaya! [He who gets scared, is dead].
Since a long time I have been listening & liking this famous dialogue by Amjad Khan (Gabbar Sing) from the blockbuster movie Sholay.
Recently I like another Television commercial of Mountain dew - Dar Ke Aage Jeet Hai. (Beyond fear lies victory)
We know that fear is not a good thing; it is one of the big stoppers in our life. In short fear may be a threat to our success. Some may or may not agree with me, sometimes fear is good, Students are afraid to score good marks in exams; officials are scared of corruption, sports persons are afraid of failures etc are good fears, they can teach us and empower us to improve our performance. Bad fear makes us a coward; while good fear can help us to succeed.
Usually in morning walks I regularly meet people from different walks of life, a local politician & ex minister of Karnataka state government says, he is scared of scandals & corruption. He is very much worried about his clean image.
I was discussing with my friend, a very famous wrestler, I asked him, you don’t have fear of losing the matches? He said, today competitive matches have become highly stressful & losing is painful. Yes sometimes I am afraid of losing because I am scared to show my face to my well wishers & sponsors. But I always remember that fear is energy & I use this energy to enhance my performance,
I remember a beautiful quote by Taylor Hanson, Sometimes, fear is good. Sometimes it's a good thing to have a little bit of a reality check.
I think fear is essential for life because it is our natural instinct. Everyone has fears of some sort. Some of us live with more fear, some of us with less fear. Let’s no run from fear. It’s here to serve us. I will not be wrong to say that fear is often what forces us to take suitable action. The more we fight fear the stronger we become.
