Today as usual I was taking a cup of coffee in the terrace of the company. I found an eagle being chased by a group of pigeons. It was really a great thing to see and pigeons grouping across to show its strength. This reflected me to the 90 when it was only Doordharshan and it used to spread the message on national integrity through a beautiful song on Ek thitkli...
India has full of colours and diversity. Every day in the print media or in the television we come across one or the other mishap or disaster. Every time we come across the hurdles or panic moments which were successfully overcame. The media ensure that these events are remembered and retelcasted every year.
Today with rise of regional political parties and every event taken on ride on the issue of regionalism ! Now all the national and regional parties are gearing up for the General Election with many hidden agendas and to fill their own coopers.
The thought that always strike my mind is – the Patriotisms is Lost ? When the tragedy strikes may be due to man-made or natural calamity, we harp on the particular region and the regional leader starts figure pointing at the others. If the sports men or women wins then the region starts propagating as its own achievement.
Today when the educated class migrate inorder to improve its lifestyle, there is always opposition and seen in a soared eye. It was really a hurled feeling when a teacher narrated this story. In a classroom when the child was asked a question and could somehow manage to answer it, the group of children started mocking. Initially the teacher was not able to reason it out. After a couple of days, when the same child responded to the answer – the same group of children started mocking again. It was identified that due to slang in the pronunciation because of regional language and mother tongue was causing this. The thought that always surprises me is - in a school of small kids start regionalism will the generation have patriotism for the country ?
Bottom-Line
A thought to reflect.........
