Yesterday once I reached home in the evening. As usual I started surfing the television. Today these news channels have become more enternining then the so called entertainment channels. The only difference between these two channels is that one make to cry other make to laugh when you follow these debates and comments made by viewers. These participants fight like small children on small issues leaving behind the bigger issues. As more and more news channels have made their way propagating gossips, rumours, scandals and chitchats . These have become necessary to keep themselves alive as the competition has became intensive. Each channel started its own trend and new at the prime time. Today during the prime time all news channels have started debate and debate. I could not found any logical conclusion arrived through these debates. These debates have some experts fooling around the masses and anchor screaming or not allowing others to put their view points.
I was totally taken to surprise to watch all the news channels, including the regional language channels only debating upon the Kasab case. The whole day these news channels telecasted the hanging of Kasab as breaking news. It was like glorifying the terrorist as if he has done something great.
Bottom-line
There are lot and lot more issues that needs media attention to pressurize the government to act. These news channels have forgotten the sacrifice of the Armed forces, freedom fighters and change leaders who have done good to society. I won’t be a surprise to view the re telecast of this next year as if the news channels are providing a memorial service on kasab.
Maturity of the content to report the news is required not TRP and debate leading to debit.
