Mothers’ Day and Women’s Day celebration in my house are a big deal as compared to any other day. We are two ladies in the house and one younger brother, who literally struggle to survive with us. But we both love him.
Mother’s day this year was a quick deal because there was a family get together in the evening and I was asleep the entire Sunday. I and brother went out of the house to get some gifts wrapped for my cousin’s wedding and thread ceremony and that was the time when we pretty much bought the gifts for our mother.
We went to Archies Gift Shops and bought a Ladies Wallet for her (I know its called purse, but I prefer calling it Wallet). It’s a nice rectangular zipped up wallet with many slots inside, the way my mom likes it. And moreover it’s black, so I was sure she would love it. Next I took a small greeting card and wrote mine and brother’s mother’s day wishes for her. We got it all wrapped and then headed towards Ribbons and Balloons, the popular cake shop. We purchased a chocolate and strawberry cake and got the icing of it with the words, “To Maa”…
We entered home and gave her the mother’s day gifts and could see tears in her eyes. That was the moment we realized she loved it and moreover she loved our small gesture.
At times its not money or jewelry makes people happy. As a child I used to give her a small diary, a pen and a Rs. 5/- Dairy Milk as a mothers day gift and she loved it even then. Gifts should be the reflection of the heart and feelings.
Mother’s Day was celebrated in my family with loads of love. What about yours? Share.
